Captain Muha wrote: thats surprising because i clearly thought that other star treks were much worse. while it is not my favorite ST film, theres one other, i still think its a great film.
i thought V was worse, i thought III was worse as well. also insurrection and nemesis were the worst out of the ST:TNG films.
also, about the newer films...
i just like the newer films anyway. most of the films on the list come from the 80s to the late 90s with a few exceptions here and there.
maybe its the direction or the fast pacing of some of these films... i dunno.
Hmm... Well, I'm a fanboy. I have to love them all. Buttt.... Trek films are NOT fair representations of the TV series. actually, they kinda suck in comparison.
Here is kind of how I would rank them... even though I enjoy them all
1. First Contact (top 100)
2. Wrath of Kahn (top 100)
3. The Undisovered Country (top 100)
4. The Voyage Home
5. The Search for Spock
6. Generations
7. Nemesis
8. Insurrection
9. The Motion Picture
10. The Final Frontier
Generations was fine. I've always loved the Enterprise D, and the ship looked stunning in the movie. Maybe it's my favorite part?
Again, I wish all of the Trek flicks were up to par with Khan and First Contact. Maybe the franchise wouldn't be struggling so much right now. It's a shame, because Trek can actual be very, very entertaining.
I wonder what Dolce thinks about Star Trek?

I'd rank them as follows:
1 Wrath of Khan
2 First Contact
3 The Voyage Home
4 The Search For Spock
5 Insurrection - Which I always really liked, for some reason
6 The Motion Picture - Has that great, great score
7 The Undiscovered Country- The most overrated of the Trek pictures, IMO
8 The Final Frontier
9 Nemesis
10 Generations
I prefer the original crew, personally.

Muha, I like most of those, with a few exceptions (Forrest Gump, Rocky IV, a few others).
Gettysburg, Master & Commander, and Monty Python are my favorites on there.
Enemy at the Gates is an underrated movie.
I continue to enjoy your list.

20. Thirteen Days: Another one of the most underrated films in history. What makes this a great movie is how it sucks you in and keeps you there. You know how the film ends yet, by the end of it, your palms are sweaty.
19. Caddyshack: The best comedy ever. (well… if you’re a golfer.) It’s hysterical, just flat out funny. Dangerfield, Chase, Knight, and Murray make the film.
18. The Fugitive: Another great thriller that is centered not around Harrison Ford’s character, but U.S. Marshal Sam Gerard, played by Tommy Lee Jones. Great performances and brilliant directing.
17. Back to the Future: BTTF is probably the most entertaining movie I’ve seen in a long time. It’s a fanboy’s dream… it has lots of humor, sci-fi elements, adventure, and flat out fun.
16. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington: Jimmy Stewart, who is one of the greatest actors of all time, makes this movie. Capra’s true classic, Mr. Smith Goes to Washington is a brilliant film and shows us how politicians can be honest and can be good hearted people. Stewart’s scene in the Senate near the end of the film is one of the greatest movie scenes in history.
15. JFK: One of the most controversial films of all time, JFK, gives us different looks at the Kennedy assassination.
14. Se7en: A clever thriller with a twist ending that makes the movie what it is. Morgan Freeman proves his versatility and Brad Pitt has a great performance.
13. Hoosiers: Another one of the greatest sports films of all time. Gene Hackman’s role as Norman Dale is great and inspiring. The tale of Indiana high school basketball is timeless. I am not even a fan of the sport, but this movie gets me every time.
12. The Truman Show: Carrey’s first dramatic role shows America where we are destined to be because of our love of reality television and celebrities.
11. Schindler’s List: I would have to say that Schindler’s List is probably the greatest film I’ve ever seen. Better than anything before it and better than anything after it. The only reason why it’s not ranked higher is because of the fact that I feel distant to it. I have no emotion already in it, whereas, my number 10, 8, and 1 have an extreme amount of attachment to it.

Yes. YES. Everything you just said is true. I can't believe how it was overlooked. Probably in my top 100 as well. But I have a strange, unhealthy Kevin Costner adoration, so I may be biased.
Mr. Smith is just wonderful. That filibuster scene is one of the best we're likely to see in our lifetime.

I'm like the only person ever who hasn't seen SPR. Great list overall. A Simple Plan, Memento, I forgot those both on mine! LA Confenditial as your #3 I also haven't seen, and Hoosiers at #13 I HATED, just boring to me. Rest are sweet though.

You're not alone. I own the DVD, but I still haven't gotten around to watching it yet. Maybe tomorrow...
