Thats cool. You're having a commentary on every movie? That might be a little time consuming, just inserting the bolded numbering and the posters was quite time consuming for me, I was moving the movies around a little while I was posting them though.

Here we go!:
number 10!
Moulin Rouge
Directed by: Baz Luhrmann
Starring: Ewan McGregor, Nicole Kidman
Why its at number 10- Moulin Rouge, from 2001, is without a doubt one of the most exhilarating movie experiances you'll ever be in. The numbers, the plotline, the chemistry, it all works flawlessly. It tells the story of Christian(Ewan McGregor) a travelling playwright, and how he finds his place writing for the play spectacular spectacular at the Moulin Rouge theatre. He has a run-in with Satine(Nicole Kidman), and it sets the ball rolling. Eventually through many songs dealing with their chemistry and such, they get together, and it evolves into much more, outwitting the Duke, an obsession. While the numbers are flamboyant and over-the-top in a fast paced entrancing way thats to the movies advantage by taking the viewers in them, the movie also has a huge emotional wallop. The themes in it are very vivid, Ewan says mostly this story is about love as one of the lines. It has its lighthearted moments as well, meaning theres plenty of relief. Its not just a musical play made into a screen version(cough Chicago cough), its got one hell of a plotline. They sing all the songs relating to the events, no they aren't original songs(come what may is though) but they are renditions of songs in this day and age played out in the 1800s to go with the story, flowing it together perfectly. You feel for the characters and want them to get through the turn of events going on in the Moulin Rouge.
It is in my opinion most romantic head-on move probably ever, as notified by its recognized line: The greatest thing is to love and be loved in return. Moulin Rouge is number 10!
Other notes- Moulin Rouge when it came out was the only of its type really, and it started the comeback for musical movies. Since the era of Hair and Grease the craze had died down, and this revitilized it, improving on those movies by giving it much more meaning.

number 9!
The Godfather
Written by Mario Puza, who also co-wrote the screenplay
Directed by: Francis Ford Coppola
Starring: Marlon Brando, Al Pacino
Storyline/Why its at number 9: Now I have to confess that I have not seen the movie for a couple of years, so I might be a bit more hazy on the details than I was on Moulin which I recently watched. The Godfather stars Marlon Brando and Al Pacino, Marlon in the title role as the Don Vito Corelone the Godfather. Basicly the Don heads 'the buisness' as the Corelone mafia family, he has control over the buisness, with his family under him, with only one exception: Micheal(Al Pacino) who returns from the war to see his sisters wedding at the beginning of the movie, he wants nothing to do with the family buisness. Ensuing in the next couple events include Sollazzo a drug lord who wants Brandos protection, when the Corelone family refues, Solazzo guns down the Don, and starts Micheal against him. From there it goes on, and ends with Vito dieing and Al Pacino's Micheal taking over the family buisness, which sets up the Godfather Part II where Micheal is now the Don/Godfather. There are many great moments in the film, many great lines, including 'In Sicisly, women are more dangerous than shotguns' as well as 'Im gonna make him an offer he can't refuse', which is the most heralded, along with 'Its not personal Sonny, its just buisness' and much more.
Other notables:The movie won best picture for good reason, Brando won best actor, its still one of the most regarded movies around today. The Godfather Part II also won best picture the only sequel to ever do so, and is generally considered the greatest sequel ever made.
I must admit if I had seen it since I was like 11, I would probably put it higher on the list as I'm sure its even better than what I remember. I am probably going to buy the box-set soon, still a nice position for it.

number 8!
True Romance
Directed By: Tony Scott
Screenplay writing credits to Quentin Tarantino
Starring: Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette
1993
Storyline/Why its at number 8: True Romance, from 1993, is without a doubt not only one of the most precisly crafted movies not only of the 90s, but ever. Everything is set in a way entices us. The movie stars Christian Slater and Patricia Arquette(nowadays in the show Medium). The movie starts with Clarance(Slater) and Alabama(Arquette) meeting in a theatre, going to his comic book shop, they do it, then stepping outside for a smoke where she tells him shes a call girl, and she wants to get out, because this was her most cherished night ever. Then it cuts to them already married in a cheap wedding. After this the movie gets rolling. Clarance through his elvis-mentored soul goes and meets her pimp, blah blah, he ends up with alot of drugs, blah blah, he confronts his dad(Dennis Hopper). They, meaning Clarence and Alabama, take the drugs to L.A. to sell them through his roomate yada yada, it goes on rather brilliantly, ending in a in a high-energy climax with plenty of whopping emotion and such. Theres alot in the movie that stands out. The opening in the theatre, where the dad(Hopper) gets confronted by the drug-lords advocate(Walken). What I feel is the best scene: Where James Gandolfini's character who is a thug/hitman confronts Arquette in the hotel room, its what I feel is the modern equivilant old-fashioned mono-a-mono duels. Alot more disfigurment and throwing around and spilling of blood from both the characters, they really put themselves into it, all this is amazingly montaged into one of the most bloody beating brawls in movies that I've ever seen. The performances in the flick are mostly great, the theme is that through it all they still make it together which is shown at the end as her line 'All I could think of was...hes so cool, hes so cool, hes cool' puts the closing moments of the film.
Other notes: The elvis inside Clarance's head is played by Val Kilmer, who has it down rather perfectly if I do say so myself. Brad Pitt also makes an appearance in the film, an insignificant character, the stoned out friend.

number 7!
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
Directed by Irvin Kershner
George Lucas writing, ideas, and so forth.
Starring: Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Alec Guiness as the spirit of Obi-Wan
Storyline/Why its at number 7: Ok at promised I'm keeping this a bit shorter, so here goes. SW Epi. V The Empire Strikes Back is generally considered the best of the SW films, its darker edge and better performances and such all help it. Mark Hamill plays Luke Skywalker(ha really?), Harrison Ford plays Hans Solo, Carrie Fisher plays Leia. The Empire had taken a blow when Luke destroyed their death star, so Darth was looking to strike back hence the title. He formulates a plan to capture Luke. Speaking of mr. skywalker, he takes lessons from Yoda, who teaches him to be a great Jedi. Hans and Leia while bickering get together. He gets frozen in carbonate by Jaba the Hut though. Through it all Luke confronts Darth(Yoda said not to though) and is ready to have a fight to the death with him. Needless to say because Luke is obviously not ready, Darth gets him down pretty good, to the point where Luke is hanging on the edge. Then comes, "I am your father."....."NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" Darth doesn't finish the job and Luke escapes, armless by the way, now tormented with the discovery.
Other notes: James Earl Jones does the voice of Vader, Frank Oz is Yoda. Lando also appears in the film.
