So I'd been hearing that Elizabeth Reaser (character actress, played Susannah in The Family Stone, among other things) would be joining the cast for at least 9 episodes, with the potential to be updated to a series regular.
Well, she was credited for appearing in last week's part 1 episode, but I didn't see her.
And then I read on Ausellio that she played the crushed lady?!?!?! Eeeeeeeeee
I kind of hope she doesn't look like that for all frigging 9 episodes, her face scared the crap out of me.

OMG. That was an amazing episode, by far my favorite of the series' so far. I was very, very close to thinking that they'd actually have the balls to cut the star of the show, but then I remembered that TV shows, ranked high think about their ratings foremost, and its far too risky to cut Meredith. Last week's episode did:
1. "Grey's Anatomy" (ABC) 16.0/23
1. "Grey's Anatomy" (ABC) 24.95
I see this episode going higher (maybe high 20's), and could see next week's conclusion hitting 30 million, everyone is wondering if they'll actually go through with it. 30 m + episode, or very close in my opinion, next week.

If Meredith does get back, she really doesn't have a story after this, so they are going to put something weird in the mix (amnesia maybe?), for her storyline. I don't see things getting back to normal, and wouldn't it be interesting on the show to have the neuro specialist trying to get his gf with amnesia to remember? Maybe not amnesia, but something that will affect her, to fill up the rest of the season, as if she just gets 100% better, there really isn't anything else to her story for this year generally...

They won't let Meredith die. Insider sources have said that the big death next week is going to be...

Me, too! I loved his character, I don't care what anyone said. It was nice to see him (and Kyle Chandler too). I liked his new haircut a lot.
Didn't the show Shonda Rhimes created that he was supposed to star in get scrapped?

This was my favorite episode as well, although every episode of Grey's is my favorite It's the best show on TV, and I personally love each and every episode.

I found the Ferry episode to be the worst GA I have ever seen. Is it just me or do shows seem to be drowning in blood? Lost, House, and GA , have people on them that must have 30 pints of blood. The avg person has 6-12 pints depending on height and weight.
I just found the whole ferry incident to be a ratings stunt and I never bought that ferry was in the actual location as the actors it just felt mapped and fake the whole time.
I am taking a break until February is over and the ratings stunts are over. I hated the Heigl story, because it was so stupid. Yeah a guy is stuck under a car for hours and nobody can get him out. I mean the S & R would have started on the ferry and worked their way back to the dock, then searching the surrounding water, not hung out on the dock the whole time. Yet on this show they do the reverse, securing the dock and never searching the surrounding water let alone venture onto the ferry to search for survivors good thing they are called S & R. There is a protocal for this type of incident and nobody follows it which is b.s., but necessary for the lame story line.
I mean I can take all the shots of nurses and doctors not wearing protective goggles during surgery, in violation of OSHA laws and basic self-protection. I can accept the fact that Dr. Bailey has some sort of imaginary specialty where she seems like an Internal Med Dr. with surgical privileges. Oh, and open up free clinic in about 24 hours, never mind the bureaucratic hurdles. I can also accept that these doctors never interact with nurses or other health professionals, when doctors are a small minority of the employees of any hospital. I can accept that these doctors commit numerous ethical violations every week, yet never get their license revoked. House has most of the same problems.
The worst thing about both these shows is that they have become predictable and that is the worst thing you can say about any show.

Amazing episode, except for when Izzie told George he made a mistake with Callie during her speech.
I'm trying to figure out why Shonda and company are intentionally tying to make Izzie seem like a bitch. Katherine Heigl is certainly not the problem, so it's all in the writing.

Watched it again this week. Still like it. But am I the only one who thinks it's a bit too much that they're even trying to make viewers think that Meredith could be dead? We all know she's going to be revived in a miraculous way next week. GA may be ballsy enough to do a lot of things, but killing off its title character is not one of them.
It's not a major complaint. I'm obviously not as invested in these characters as all of you, but I just don't appreciate it. Maybe if the show wasn't called "GREY's Anatomy", I could at least buy into it and play along. I wish the show was better than ratings stunts and Emmy baiting. But then again, that's what many of my favorites tend to do throughout their seasons. So, I can't really complain there.
I'll be tuning in next week anyway. And probably the week after. And so forth.

It will also repeat on Thursday, Feb. 22 at 8 leading into a new Grey's Anatomy at 9.

Well, to their credit, Grey's Anatomy is just a play on the classic medical book, Gray's Anatomy, so they could be balsy enough and cut her from the show, but that's more of a May stunt, not February, so that isn't happening. If anything, fans of the show complain about just how much Meredith complains (the irony), so just replace her with Giselle, and we'll all wonder, "Meredith who?"

The last episode was quite phenomenal. It brought close to tears towards the end. The guy who who had a pregnant girlfriend and finally found out she was dead was heart-breaking.
Not only was this the first episode I actually was able to stand Derek's character, I REALLY REALLY felt for him.
As with Libs, I too am really curious where this George/Callie/Izzie thing is going.

The only thing that bothered me about this episode was that you never really get to see Meredith trying to swim. The episode really would have benefited from at least showing her trying to reach the top of the platform to pull herself out but not being able to reach, trying to at least scream for help, trying to do something to save her own life.
That really bugged me that she was just like: meh, i fell into water, time to drown!
