 The Bourne Supremacy
The Bourne Supremacy Quote: The Bourne Supremacy is a 2004 American spy film very loosely based on Robert Ludlum's novel of the same name. The film was directed by Paul Greengrass, written by Tony Gilroy and Brian Helgeland, and produced by Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley. Universal Pictures released the film to theaters in the United States on 23 July 2004. It is the second in the Bourne film series. It was preceded by The Bourne Identity and is followed by The Bourne Ultimatum.
The Bourne Supremacy continues the story of Jason Bourne, a former CIA paramilitary operative and assassin suffering from psychogenic amnesia. Bourne is portrayed by Matt Damon. The film focuses on his attempt to learn more of his past as he is once more enveloped in a conspiracy surrounding the CIA and Operation Treadstone. The film also stars Franka Potente as Marie Kreutz, Brian Cox as Ward Abbott, Joan Allen as Pamela Landy and Julia Stiles as Nicky Parsons.

It's not very often to see a summer sequel that is better than its original, especially in this case, since The Bourne Identity was very good. However, Supremacy has done the job. Matt Damon returns as Jason Bourne, a trained assassin who doesn't remember his past. This movie starts two years after the first one ended, where Jason and his girlfriend Marie are living and hiding in Goa, India. Though Jason has flashbacks of his past, he tries to continue on with his life as if nothing happened. Their peace ended soon as Jason discovers one day that he is being followed by a suspicious person. Jason and Marie decide they need to leave the country immediately, but as they are getting away, their follower chases them to a bridge, where he accidently shoots Marie instead of Jason. Their car crashes off the bridge into the water, making the killer think that Jason is dead. At the point, Jason is determined to find out who killed Marie and tried to kill him, so he travels across Europe in search of the assassin.
This movie never leaves the audience bored or wanting more. It supplies the right amount of fights, car chases, and explosions, and they are used at the right moments. It also provides a mystery that can keep you guessing until it's revealed. Everything in this movie is believable; nothing is overdone. The acting is excellent. Matt Damon has proven through the Bourne movies that he can be a great actor when he has the right role, and he is the next big star in Hollywood. No one could have played Jason Bourne like he does. Brian Cox also did a top- notch performance, as well as the rest of the cast. It would have been nice to see Franka Potente in the whole movie though, but it wasn't bad without her. There are very minor flaws in this movie. For one, the camera work could have been improved. It was very shaky at times, and it could annoy people. Also, the movie felt a bit short. When the movie was over, I wanted more.
Overall, this is a clever, espionage thriller. It has the right amount of everything, plus a great plot and excellent acting to top it off. The flaws don't affect my grade that much, but they could have been improved. Anyone who enjoys the James Bond movies or other spy thrillers must see this movie. Also, fans of the original will not be disappointed with this sequel, for it exceeds the origional, in my opinion. If you can only see a few movies this summer, make this movie one of them.My Grade: A-Review Page: http://www.worldofkj.com/Zingaling-BourneSup.php

A: I loved how the camra was used and I thought the story was very well done. I always thought Damon would do good in action.

I was a bit dissapointed. The first Bourne was "Fresh". The second one was just ok for me. I didnt like the camera. I want to see the fight not Bournes coat.
Overall an ok movie with nice story and good action. Unfortunately bad camera work.

I thought it improved upon the first one by a great deal. It was also much more suspenseful. The action sequences were finely crafted (especially the car chases), and the acting was great all-around. Overall, I was pleased.

I liked it better on DVD than I did in the theater though it seemed to lose steam in the final third, the final car chase was not as thrilling as earlier scenes, and some plot points about exactly which assassin was after him in the end and why were a little vague.
Overall: B+

A good sequel that continues to show Matt Damon might just actually be the real deal. It was too bad a main character died pretty quickly. Brian Cox was good as usual and it was great to see Joan Allen, one of the best underused actresses working today. I grade it a B+.

I highly suggest everyone watch it a second time (if they haven't already seen it twice) My first time out of the theaters I liked it. I thought it was good for an action movie, and would recommend it. I walked out of the theater again at the end of the sumemr totally blown away. It was a top-notch spy-movie, with a great plot and great action, and one of my favorite movies this year (number five, I believe).
I have yet to get it on DVD, but it's the next thing on my list to buy.

Bourne Supremacy - A
Better than first. I loved it, the amatuer-ish way really added originality to it, esp for an action film.

The only area this movie was inferior to the first one IMO was in the action scenes. The action scenes in the first Bourne seemed more creative and intense. The whole embassy sequence in Bourne 1 was a fascinating little scene with lots of aspects, not really any equivalent in Bourne 2. But that's just the action scenes, other aspects of Bourne 2 were better.

A really good follow-up to the already very fine first movie. The action scenes are a blast, especially the car chase through Moscow. It's sad that there isn't more from Franka Potente though and the camera work was too shaky at the beginning (it litrerally can cause headaches), but still an outstanding action flick compared to what Hollywood usually produces. (B+)

I loved it. I finally rented it the other night, and I must say, it was better than the first one. I liked BI (B+), but loved this one. James Bond should learn from Borne. Really. The action was amazing, the direction, the music, the acting. All of it. Spot on. The plot wasn't as strong as it could have been, but that's a minor nitpick. Overall, a new favorite. A

The movie was good almost as good as the first one. I liked Bourne better in the first one because he killed more people, in Supremacy he killed nobody directly.

Bad movie. Kinetically pathetic.
Shame since the first one actually had a story, and JB was a cool idea for a character...

 Re: The Bourne Supremacy
A lot better than I remember when I first saw it three years ago. Quite the blast, and really got me pumped for Ultimatum this weekend. And put me on the side absolutely thrilled by the Moscow car chase (If a little disoriented).

 Re: The Bourne Supremacy
I thought the direction was a bit too shakey (I hate the shakey camera perspective...) so sometimes it was hard to see things going on. I liked Identity more.
