Man of the Year had some great ideas behind it, and Robin Williams was excellent (he's always great despite his sometimes crappy movie choices), but the film suffers from it's inability to choose a genre and stick with it. Man of the Year doesn't know whether it's a thriller or a comedy. It's comedy aspects are wonderful; the thriller aspects were terribly lame and poorly executed. I never felt "thrilled". Ultimately, the comedy took a side spot to the other elements, and the film did not succeed as well as it could have if had played up the film as a straight comedy. To Robin Williams I give an A+.

Lady in the Water was the first ultimate disappointment from Shyamalan for me; his first uneven film that does not play up the fantastical elements he usually showcases so well. I posted more elaborated thoughts in the review forum on this.
