 QUICK! Sunday AM!
Local theater...
Showing both Volver and Little Children...
Which one? One will have to wait for DVD because next week is Pan's and Iwo Jima and I have to see Babel again because I slept through a bunch of it (long story).
So between those two... WHICH! You guys know my tastes more than perhaps anybody.

I have not seen either one, unfortunately. Not much help.
If it were me, though, I'd hit Little Children.

Volver is Almodovar at his best. I know you love him.
Little Children is supposed to be fantastic. Did you like In the Bedroom?
I'm seeing LC, but not this weekend. Probably by next.
I have to recommend Volver because it was fantastic, but I'm almost sure LC is at the very least good.

Only seen Volver, its good but not brilliant. LC looks intriguing but this choice totally depends on how much you like/dislike Aldomover.
I'd go with Little Children in a pinch.

Little Children.
The book was fantastic and it has Kate Winslet who trumps Cruz and Almodovar easily.

I love Almodovar and 90% of In the Bedroom.
One thought while I was in the shower is that Little Children is likely not to get a Picture nomination of any kind... Volver's soon to be Foreign nomination might keep it in theaters longer so I can go see it.
I also just found out that Field plays Ol' Drippy on Aqua Teen Hunger Force.

Haven't seen either, but I'll choose Little Children as well.

I haven't seen Volver yet, but Little Children was wonderful.
I don't know if you've already left or whatnot, though.

Little Children was a masterpiece (see review section).
Children of Men and Little Children in one weekend... I feel blessed.
Although a squeak was in the theater (everybody complained about it afterward) the guy wouldn't stop tapping his feet in back of me and some older gent decided to snore for 3 minutes midway through the film.
God I hate theaters.

Oh and zenn... I'm going to try to see Volver on a weeknight this week. I will try, I can't promise anything.

The same goes for me and Little Children, though I have to drive about an hour south in traffic to make it, then an hour back... so it might wait until Friday. I'm really excited after your review. I'm glad you want to see Volver at least... makes you one of few. I don't think you'll love it as much as you liked Little Children, so I'm glad you went ahead and saw what you did. I still think Volver is great, but I'm arguably a bigger fan of its makers.

Little Children was playing near me for like 6 weeks and I kept putting it off, and now it isn't showing in Atlanta at all. Figures.

It's no longer showing in the Santana Row theater, the best one for the art-house films, so look like I have to catch it at downtown San Jose instead.

I'll watch Little Children this week or kend, I hope. And then Volver opens the 19th apparently. Hopefully I'll be able to catch that too.
