Best actor Oscar, again?
Not out of the realm of possibility...

It would be fun to see him once again as a nominee though (he was brilliant in Copland - I think he deserved another one right there).
But the big victory for Stallone is to avoid the Razzie nom.

The academy would never admit that he deserves one. Acting wise he is good enough to garner one but screenplay wise, he should be nominated. I know he won't, but the script is fantastic.

No. Box office success is his prize. The Academy won't honor Rocky Balboa. Zero nominations.

Daniel Craig will get a nomination before Stallone does.

Theres about 20 names that would take the 5th spot before him.

I'm surprised you'd compromise your street cred like that, Jon. I know it's a long shot, especially taking into account "Oscar politics", but have you seen the movie? The audience I was in went nuts for the character as portrayed by Stallone - he does a great acting job in this movie.
I say again -- ia nomination is a possibility (albeit a slim one)...

I think, and as has been mentioed in countless reviews, Rocky Balboa's Oscar glory will more than anything be to reiterate that Rocky 1 did deserve to win best picture. Rocky was becoming a joke with #5 and this long delay for the next one, but I think the franchise redeeming itself, and adding a shine to the 1976 winner is probably more important than him getting one now. But you never know, people LOVE comeback stories. If Rocky were in Miramax's hands, I don't doubt that it could have been a bigger contender. But MGM hasn't had a best picture nomination (and a win) in 19 years, with the last one being Rain Man. They also had 1987, 1980, and 1979 best picture nods. So they just weren't in the position to really even push for it...
