Charlotte's Web 9 (2), +0 (+0), B+
Eragon 1 (32), +0 (+0), B-
The Pursuit of Happyness 0 (5), +0 (+0), NA
Looks like we're going to need the written reviews again today. Eragon is already monster-clogged, as expected.

So, translating that to written-to-gross ratios, something like a 15-20 for Charlotte's Web, 20-25 for Eragon, and 25 for The Pursuit of Happyness?

Pretty close, if my ratio assumptions are correct. Hopefully xiayun will be around later to offer his thoughts. For written to overall ratios, I would expect 1:5 for Charlotte's Web (book fanbase should prevent 1:6), 1:4 for Eragon (fanbase should bring it down some), and 1:5 for Pursuit of Happyness (although serious dramas like these sometimes see 1:6).

So then you'd be looking more for around 12 for Charlotte's Web, 20 for Eragon, and 20 for The Pursuit of Happyness.
Traditional ratios will probably be weird again, with Eragon likely to be super-clogged, and Yahoo not even allowing/reportin regular ratings yet for The Pursuit of Happyness.

I wouldn't count on the traditional system today. We seem to get one completely clog-free day every 4-6 weeks. If it helps, here are all the ratios I have so far under the written-only system:
Nativity - 40.11
Turistas - 24.52
Van Wilder 2 -29.61
Apocalypto - 40.17
Blood Diamond - 19.64
The Holiday - 8.56
Unaccompanied Minors 12.85
Nativity & Apocalypto were the highest for obvious reasons. I'd agree with 10-15 for CW, and 20 for both Eragon & Pursuit. Keep in mind this data is really limited, which is why I'm not officially using it unti next year.

Good looking number of reviews coming in on Eragon, from the midnights obviously. Seems pretty good for early Pursuit of Happyness reviews this early, considering that there weren't widespread early screenings or pre-opens. Looking for both of these to be somewhere in the 100's, I guess.

As of 10AM EST, Eragon at 152 written reviews. The front page links directly to the written review page though.

I keep getting 128 right now. Regardless, it's getting a ton of reviews.

That seems huge for Eragon.... though I know it had midnight shows, does this mean that it has a chance at surprising for the weekend??
I am getting 206 written reviews as of this post... the front page must be having a huge effect!

The ratio will be higher with the increased pace. It did have midnights, and the fanboys are out in full force. Regardless, it's doing quite well - certainly consistent with the midnight shows and early sales.

Wow, Eragon already has 208 written reviews?! That is an insanely high number!
Last week, Apocalypto had 24 reviews around this time, and some KJ posters were already thinking that it was doing pretty well. It was also similarly on the home page and had a lot of fanboys, chiming in for good or bad, with its share of detractors and praisers. Apocalypto ended with 197 writtens, a $15 million opening weekend, and a pretty high fanboy ratio of 40. That's the highest that Rolling Thunder has seen so far (in the short time that we've been doing this).
So far, Eragon has over 8 times the number of reviews that Apocalypto had. Yes, it's on the front page, there were midnights, it's a teenage fanboy movie, it'll be frontloaded, etc., but that's still a crazy pace. If that pace keeps up, it would get 600+ more reviews today. The final tally should easily be well over 500+ writtens, (Thunder's better at projecting the pace), and even at a super high fanboy ratio of 50 for writtens, that would be a minimum of a $10 million Friday, and could be well into the $teens!

It's nice to see Charlotte's Web getting so many reviews.

Is it possible that everyone has severly underestimates the strength of Eragon, or are we all getting way ahead of ourselves here?
Fox should be estatic with a 10 million opening day, I would think..

I've learned not to get excited about the reviews until I see some evening theater reports. The poisonous super-high ratio is rare these days, but far from extinct.

Yahoo just isn't reliable anymore unfortunetly. Its hard to tell with written reviews for say Charlotte's Web. Its audience probably won't write that many reviews. Eragon does fit although not sure what it means.

still, Eragon is now at 255 written reviews.. if it keeps this pace for the reat of the day, it should end up with about 800 - 1000 reviews... even with a super high ratio of 100, that's 8-10 million... I think it's a safe bet to win the weekend at the very least...

Why wouldn't parents write reviews? I doubt many 5 year-olds are seeing this by themselves. Kid's movies are generally light on reviews, but I expected more from a film based on a hugely popular children's book.

ERAGN still going strong. Plus, combined with notfabio's early reports, ERAGN is looking really good, PRHAP pretty good, and CHWEB horrible so far.
