Gunslinger is that right? Find it hard to believe that it doesn't have Rocky Balboa, yet opens Marshall on Wednesday.

Moviefone had incomplete showtimes. They've since updated and my theatre will be receiving Rocky Balboa on Wednesday and Dreamgirls (on two screens) on Monday. Still only two night shows for Black Christmas, thouugh.

Oh, and Marshall-on-Wednesday was my typo.

From the NY Post:

December 20, 2006 -- Yo! Even before he steps into the ring today, Rocky Balboa is packing a solid punch at the box office.

Sylvester Stallone's sixth film about the uber-underdog boxing champ opens today - and yesterday, it was the top-selling film on Fandango, which sells tickets online for AMC Loews, Regal Entertainment Group and other theaters.

"Rocky Balboa" yesterday accounted for 21 percent of Fandango's ticket sales, followed by "Charlotte's Web," at 14 percent, and "Eragon" and "The Pursuit of Happyness," both with 12 percent.

Hollywood Reporter online columnist Martin Grove said yesterday, "I would expect that 'Rocky Balboa' will be one of the box-office champions this weekend."

FYI - notfabio reports 36 presales for Rocky today. That's in-line with mine and looks to be solid for a Wednesday.

Sounds great! He's also reporting 18 for Night at the Museum, which looks really strong for a family film, this far ahead (sales must be from yesterday, I assume). Rocky higher due to it opening today, and we'll see how strong Museum is on Thursday night, before the pre-opens.

Everytime you illegally download and sneak into a movie, you make Jack Valentia mad.
If you make Jack Valentia mad, the terrorists have already won

According to a Rocky Balboa crowd reports thread from IMDB, there are quite a lot of heavily attended and SOLD OUT showings for the movie around the country, so I think we could be potentially looking at an absolute minumum of $5.5-6 million. Maybe it'll even approach $6.5-7 million.
