It'll be interesting to see which Eastwood movie(s) they go for. In the comedy/musical area, I expect Dreamgirls and LMS to go neck to neck, Departed will lead the dramas, but don't count out United 93 there

Is the foreign-language Letters eligible?

If I remember correctly, Letters is considered Foreign Language Film and thus wouldn't be eligible.
Peace,
Mike.

I'm pratically sure it isn't. I think they'll pick Flags instead... or perhaps Little Children as the nominee with no shot at BP?
EDIT: or even better... Half Nelson?

Half Nelson is building steam, so I wouldn't count it out as a wild card at this point.

Letters will be put in the foreign language category and not eligible for Best Drama, but Eastwood, performances, and score are.
I'm writing up my full predictions.

when are the nominees announced? god, this year is boring for awards season. i just realized it's mid-december and none of the possible front runners u guys are mentioning are in any way, shape, or form exciting.
i think at this point the only movie i'm rooting for is Volver. penelope was awesome in it.

This is actually quite an interesting year in my opinion. Certainly not boring! I think it's shaping up to be better than the utter anomoly that was 2005.

I'm thinking United 93 might get in since it's gaining a lot of momentum. Best Picture win from WAFCA, Best Director win from LAFCA, and Runner-Up for both with BSFC.
Peace,
Mike.

That Sherrybaby bit is random, and Glass might sneak in somewhere for score, but besides that I think its dead on. Xia, are you putting this on the main site? You should.

You guys? Are you going to put up a set of lists on the main site? Maybe have all the main contributors like you, xia, levy, etc. put up their lists and do a tally. Compare and contrast, see which movies showed up on all the prediction lists, and then afterwards return to it to see who was most accurate and so forth. That would be really great!

I proposed that in another thread, but didn't get any feedback on it. I'm much for it to have a weekly trend of KJ's "expert" panel

Regarding the acting categories. Does the HFPA decide for themselves who to put where, like where to put all the Departed actors and Streep or do they listen to the studio's wishes like the academy does

Hey guys, where are your links on the main site yet?
I went here : http://www.worldofkj.com/awards/golden.php and found nothing.
These things neeed pushing. Since you all want it done, pm your full lists and comments to Jon. Jon compile them on one word doc/spreadsheet. and that way you can upload one doc, or at least only bug the new site maintainer once. If you guys don't reach anyone and can't upload it by tomorrow, let me know and I can upload it using my password in the "articles section" (at least until someone can link it or upload it properly).
That Sherrybaby call is risky, Xia. I've heard nothing about Maggie....nothing.
