The 'Scrubs' Season 6 Thread
A week from Thursday!!! That's gonna be my favorite day ever! I've been watching all the seasons over again for the 100th time.

I'm sooooooo excited.
I've also caught up on every episode recently via Comedy Central.
Can't wait. Best show on TV right now.

I was wondering when the show was coming back. Now I know. I'm in the middle of watching Season 4 on DVD.
It's easily one of the best comedies on TV. Hopefully it can do decently in the rough timeslot.

Don't worry, it'll probably be Scrubs' last season too!

God I love Scrubs...
I am oddly happy that this is going to be its last season though.

It's had a good run and the characters have all gone as pretty far as they can go. It'd be nice for them to wrap it up while it's still at the top of its game. I'll miss it, of course, but I'm far more interested in seeing what Braff can do on the big screen.
Though something tells me that that will amount to nothing more than a series of gloomy, emo films, each more tepid than the last... He better do something slapsticky soon, or, by god, I'll shake my head in disappointment so hard!!

Unfortunately, I don't think we have to worry about that. But I agree, I love the show, but it's had a good run and should end before it is past its prime.

Oh, everybody cut the 'don't go past its prime' crap! I say go all for broke!!
No not really. I guess this will be the show's sixth year, which itself is pretty incredible for a show that never really got good ratings.

Yeah, it might manage okay ratings, but Scrubs, as a smart, funny well-written show, will -- naturally -- never get good ratings.
I expect it to fall somewhere between 30 Rock and The Office in terms of ratings this season.

I think the last few years have taught us that, in order for a sitcom to be successful, it needs a laugh track. If the Office had a laugh track it'd be raking in 15 million a night at the least!
People are confused when watching a sitcom without a laugh track! "Well... I think that's funny, but I don't know... I didn't hear anyone laugh. Maybe it wasn't."

I think I laughed more in the first five minutes than I did watching The Office tonight. Great opener.

It was funny, but a weak episode for Scrubs.

Yeah, surprisingly weak.
JD telling Elliot, Turk, and Carla how he got Kim pregnant, though, was hilarious.

Yes. There were some scenes where it looked completely normal, but then, other scenes.....

I'm kind of hoping that with JD & Dr. Cox they're doing a sort of in-joke "the hair gets more ridiculous every year" sort of thing.
Because, yeah. Honestly. What the hell was that?

If I had to guess, I would say they called Johnny C back to do some reshoots.
On a more important note - someone is supposed to die this season?
TMZ.com wrote: TMZ: Anything else you can tell us about this season?
BL: There's going to be a character on the show, not one of our main ones, but someone who dies who has been on the show for six years.
From reading up on things, that leaves Laverne, Todd, Ted and Jordan. My guess is if it is one of the four, it's Laverne. She's kind of like a mother figure to everyone, especially to Carla, who as we know lost her mother. If they kill her off, that mother figure is instantly gone, which would come at an especially vulnerable time for Carla since she just gave birth and doesn't really have a parental figure there to watch over her.
As for the other candidates, well I don't think it'll be Ted because he is perfectly miserable. Killing him would just ruin it. At this point he just seems to enjoy being depressed.
The same can be said for Jordan, except she has that affect on Dr. Cox. The two are perfectly miserable and they have another child on the way. Throwing a wrench in the middle of that would be too depressing. I just don't see how Cox could recover from that.

Personally, of those four, I consider Jordan a main character. Possibly Ted, too.
