I trust George Miller's instincts.

I think the movie is being underestimated in a lot of quarters, though. November is DEAD when it comes to family films. There is The Santa Clause 2 and Flushed Away two weeks before this, but they won't crack $200 million (hell, maybe not even $175 million) put together, and there's this. Last November, all the family films released that month made over $600 million altogether. In November 2004, $500+ million put together (and I'm not counting National Treasure, which had tons of kid appeal). 2003, $455 million. There's Deck The Halls a week after this, but Thanksgiving will cancel out any impact, and I don't see why that movie would make more than about $60 million.

mwha, that hs why happy feet will easily make a robust 350m+ gross with an excelent chance at 400m and the largest film of the year.

$34 m/$153 m (Over The Hedge territory...)

$200 m + if this weren't the 13th of 13 cg animated films this year...

The Charlotte's Web and Eragon two-fer will hurt it after a month, but Christmas coming right after will reverse a good deal of the damage.

There has to be ONE big kid's film in November...

It pains me to say it but....HF is probably going to beat CR.

I have seen A LOT of marketing for it all of which are targeted to various demographs. And with SC2 and FA both not opening too big, HF will be very strong. And with no kid film until Eragon(which also isn't looking too good so HF legs should be even better than I intially thought), it'll have strong legs

OW: 42m
Total: 185m

Still no 200m.

CR is going down, and 200m will be obliterated before christmas

The marketing is really amazing for this.

The trailers have been all over the place, and there is a sneak preview of it playing before every movie at Regal (not sure about other theaters) that links it to the "Please turn off your cell phones announcement"...

The posters are all over the place, tie-ins to the concession products...

I'm thinking at least $60 million opening.
