People who can't enjoy this show or Heroes are way to picky about TV.

My biggest issue I guess is that the characters seem... average? We get it, there's the kind of dick doctor, the pretty doctors that don't like each other, the sort of loser doctor, and they all sleep and cheat on each other... but they just don't seem like anything special or memorable. None of them have any factors that place them above characters on any average soap opera, from what I've seen so far. It's mostly exactly what you'd expect from a show like this, and nothing more. Big fat meh. And the drama, again the cheating, pregnancies, triangles, etc... way too forced, it's like they're winking the whole time at how tangled everything is.
You become more attached to these characters than pretty much any show on TV. They are all realistic and flawed, fascinating to watch. It's hard to call them cardboard cutouts when you've only seen one episode.
That said, I hope one day you get around to renting the first and second season Then you would understand the obsession Wink

No. Not true at all. I know many people who watch the show who would also disagree with you. (Including the ones, who are few and far between amongst my friends, who actually enjoy watching and don't just watch to torture themselves.) Particularly about the realistic part. They may be flawed, and I mean crazy flawed, but I wouldn't call them any more realistic than your average soap opera character. So, very unrealistic.

I'm glad everyone's starting to turn on Meredith. I cannot stand her. Ugh.
Good episode though.

I can't believe I'm still watching but this episode was definitely a cut above the rest and reminded me of when I really liked it in earlier season 2.
The chief uttering "brokeback mountain" was classic. Oh and this must have been the episode which caused the whole Demsey/Washington thing.
Love love love Addsion and I'm starting to warm up to McSteamy.
The transgender patient storyline was pretty heartbreaking as was the baby one.

Ack. You're killing me here, ABC, putting this on Thanksgiving night? Guess I'll have to catch this and Ugly Betty online next week.
Great episode as always

Couldn't agree more.
I actually enjoyed tonight's episode quite alot. Then end with Bailey singing instead of some pop song was actually nothing short of amazing. It felt like something different. Something not Grey's Anatomy.

Definitely the most dramatic -- and least over-the-top -- episode this season. And maybe one of the best. I liked it a lot.

They showed a new episode on a holiday? That seems unusual.

Just watched it at abc.com
That really was a phenomenal episode. I love it when other characters narrate. The tension between everyone was so incredibly executed both script-wise and acring wise and that is definitely due to how well this show has built up its characters.
I've thought about it alot and what Christina and Burke did was almost just as bad as what Izzie did. It was just simply handled better.
Sandra Oh, Chandra Wilson, and T.R. Knight all deserve nominations for their work.
And Meredith was actually bearable in this episode which made it twice as more enjoyable!
Will Dr. Han be a regular now? I kinda like her. She fits well into the cast.

She was! I think I only wanted to cut my ears off once while she was talking, which is amazing.
About the show...it was really good, but I thought it was going to be 2 hours, as did everyone I know. I could have sworn the promos said that. It was still a great episode, but I am wondering waht is going to happen to Burke. Is the actor leaving the show or will he stay on in some capacity? I also wouldn't mind Dr. Han to take Burke's position, which brings up another question. Is the chief going to stay or appoint someone else?

She was bearable because she was going to get beaten up by Kallie this episode! That would have been pretty funny to see, but I guess maybe next sweeps?

Finally watched this on ABC.com
Best episode of the season. Sandra Oh was completely amazing.
Like someone said earlier, the tension buildup in this episode was tremendous (the title of the episode, "From a Whisper to a Scream", is a perfect description).

Well, in the first season, wasn't there a scene between Shepherd and Burke where they both acknowledged that they were brought to Seattle Grace for the position of chief -- and it was basically more of a thing of who would actually get it. So if it's not going to be Burke, I assume it'll be Shepherd.
