I thought this last episode was great, there's something compulsively watchable about this show, other than the rare dud episodes which every series has now and then, like last week.

Am I the only one who finds the Indian guy horribly uninteresting?

Nope. I just can't get into him. I have trouble getting into the Petrellis sometimes, but they've improved since the pilot. The Indian guy (Suresh?) just hasn't done anything significant for me.
I'm shocked at how interested I am in Claire's story, like everyone else. And I can't help but think that Hayden Panettiere brings something to the role, almost playing dual roles of the typical high school cheerleader and the teenage girl coming to terms with her superhero powers. I'm not saying she's an award-worthy actress, but she is doing far better than I expected of her.

Remember the Titans? How old was she there, 12?
I don't remember the movie too well, so I doubt I'd remember who she played.

Loving this episode so far.
Mohinder is an OK character ... I think he will get more interesting as time goes on.

Yeah I think she was 10 or 11, she played the assistant coach's daughter, who was intent on helping to coach the team rather than "play with dolls." She was pretty darn delightful in that movie

Damn them for killing (brutally, eesh) that lovely waitress, too. I hope Hiro can save her.
Next week looks sublime.

This week was great. Will Hiro save that girl, although will he get back to save Claire. It looks like Peter is trying to save her and fight Syler in the previews. I actually like Mohinder, I thought this episode was his best, mainly because we got to meet his father and find out how he died. I think seeing that watch will be important in a future episode. My question is does he have powers or something? The whole dream bit was interesting and who is that kid?

Good episode, nothing more. I loved the Hiro/Waitress part... Mohinder, not so much. That waitress in particular, I think it'd be interesting to have her as a character on the show. Having an infinite memory could be in some cases as powerful as bending time or being invincible.

I don't know if Hiro can save that girl, I just don't think he has a strong enough grasp on his powers as of yet to make it happen.

I think Hiro will save her, Hiro is the man, remember, they aren't called Heroes for nothing.

Yeah, Mohinder feels a couple episodes behind everyone else, and not just because he doens't have any powers. However, I loved the rest of the episode. All the stories are going in really interesting directions, especially Hiro's. I gotta say, that was one of the best death scenes I've seen in some time on TV. It's interesting to know that Claire's dad is after Silar - unless they're planning a twist on that, which wouldn't surprise me. Also, I really like everything that happens with the cop character, even if his partner seems like a low-rent Tea Leoni.

Originally I thought Syler was Claire's dad, as they have virtually the exact same build... With the "trying to kill Heroes" thing though, I doubt it now.

Claire's adoptive father killed her real parents ... or so it sounded like to me.
The big question, for me, about Claire's dad is: Who does he work for? What is his purpose? It doesn't seem to me he is working for the government, and hiding out in a makeshift warehouse fronted as a paper business ... interesting. There is a lot more to learn about his character. Why does he want to aid these heroes in developing their powers?
The only character in this show that bores me is Niki.

Did you not see the board filled with pictures from the past at the end of the show? Hiro had his picture taken with the waitress celebrating a birthday, he looked like he was busboy or something. He saves the girl.

That's what I thought, but don't forget that's in the past, the Haitian could still get the girl later on.

Another good episode, but the Mohinder stuff was boring to be honest. All the rest was awesome. Looks like Claire's dad might be not that evil afterall. Or is he?

It was but I appreciated them having it in India, the setting added interest to otherwise dull scenes, so I wasn't bugged. I disagree about Claire's dad, he seemed more evil than ever, his doting on his daughter is beyond parental and seems creepy to me. And there's a chance he killed her parents.

Then again, I had to wonder why all the people in India talked in English to each other, heh.
I don't disagree about killing her parents thing, but I am not sure it was intentional.

From wikipedia about English in India: As drafted in the constitution in 1950, English ceased to exist as an official language (on par with Hindi) in 1965, after which it was intended to continue as an "associate additional official language" until such time that a duly appointed committee can decide on a full-scale transition to Hindi, based on a periodic review. However, due to protests from South Indian states where there is low Hindi penetration, the "twin language" system is still in vogue. Due to rapid industrialization, and a bustling multinational influence in the economy, English continues to be a popular and influential means of communication in the government and day-to-day business, and moves to replace it have effectively been shelved.

Hm, I figured this much considering how long it has been a colony for, but I still would have expected at least someone not to speak English there, heh.
