Post Happy Feet Review Watch - 79% RT, 77 MC
2/2 with very positive review from variety, and a very positive one from hollywood reporter.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/happy_feet/?show=all

"general reaction is likely figures to be one of jaw-dropping amazement, sparking merry B.O. through the holidays and further abundance in home entertainment incarnations. Extensive simultaneous Imax engagements will be particularly popular."

Things I don't understand about Happy Feet:

1. Who thought this was a bright idea for a feature length movie?

2. Who thought this movie should then be greenlighted and financed?

3. Who on earth would possibly want to see this movie, not to mention pay ten bucks to see it?

Yes. And this still isn't calling me. Looks like a third-rate, watered down, inside-reference dependant spin-off of March of the Pigs.

Dolce I bet you will love it.

If you do a double feature of this and Borat, you can be fulfilled in the heartstrings and gutbusting departments.

I still don't know what the plot is. Penguins dancing for an hour and a half? meh.

At least the other penguin film coming out next year lets you know what it's about.

i got the chance to see a feautrette on this a few months ago that finally explained to me what the plot was about.

the film is about penguins that sing to find their mates. turns out this one penguin ... he can't sing. he just doesnt have it and isntead learns how to dance. his friends and him are now on a quest to get the girl penguin by dancing to her instead of singing to her.

kind of quirky ....

Wasn't there already an animated movie about a penguin who needed to do something to attract a mate?

Never heard of that before. Hey Groucho, was it done by the same people who animated Secret of Nyhm? Looks like exactly the same style.

Yes indeed. You have a good eye. It's from Don Bluth. I never saw it, though, but it does seem to have the same sort of plotline, doesn't it? In "Pebble" the penguin had to get a pretty stone to get the girl to like him, which is apparently based on something real penguins do.

And besides, how many animated films with Robin Williams doing his schtick can you stand? Let's see...

Ferngully
Aladdin
Aladdin and the King of Thieves
Robots
Happy Feet
