And it was Halloween. I can't see them deciding to cancel due to this one week, where they know everything is stacked against VM. I'm thinking that they may even decide to make an announcement for the back-9 after the finals are published this afternoon. There's lots there that is perfect for some great spin. But it probably depends on what the 18-34 demos look like.

Caught up on all the Veronica Mars episodes I missed (the last three). I loved 'em, as usual. Although, I was missing Mac. She wasn't in any of them! And, the less Piz, the better. There's really nothing wrong with him, but it's almost like he should be on a different show. He's like an 8-year old trapped in a college student's body.

I asked where Mac was last night and my friend said, "She's off studying polygamy."
I really don't understand why they needed Piz as a regular. Recurring guest I understand, but he doesn't seem to serve any purpose. He doesn't even have the advantage Dick had last season of being the comic relief. I would think they'd want to save money and not have a tenth regular. Parker I can understand a little bit better, since she was a victim, but even with her they could've just had her be recurring.

Well, he's Wallace's roomie, so I guess they expected to use him more. Guess not.
And HOW THE HELL DID I NEVER REALIZE MAC WAS ALSO IN NAPOLEON DYNAMITE?
I guess it sucked that bad.
And last night's episode? Awesome. Funnier than 96% of all sitcoms on TV.

CW Feels Some Growing Pains
Quote: TV viewing by adults 18-34 (which allows for a direct comparison to a comparable period last season), through Oct. 29, ratings for 7th Heaven are down 33 percent, Gilmore Girls is down 22 percent, Smallville is down 22 percent and Supernatural is down 32 percent. For the UPN ethnic sitcom block of All of Us, Everybody Hates Chris and Girlfriends, ratings are down 35 percent, 54 percent and 32 percent, respectively. Only America’s Next Top Model and Veronica Mars are up in the demo over last year, while One Tree Hill and WWE Smackdown are flat.

My brother works in tv advertising sales and I was bugging him last week about getting his hands on ratings for me (he only has for his market, so I'm no longer interested), so, after making fun of me for wanting them purely to make myself feel better about VM, he called a friend of his at the CW down here was told that there "no way in hell" that VM will be cancelled.

VM was never in danger, if you ask me.

Ugh. This is what bad promos do. The promo for last night was horrible and had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with episode. And now the ratings for last night aren't looking too hot.
But I loved the episode. (Except the too much Piz stuff. Why couldn't Mercer be the new regular instead of Piz? I like him a lot more and he's cuter.)
With the return of the prof, he's back in the running for rapist. As I've said from the beginning, the TA is too obviously hateful of Veronica to be the rapist, though he was less so at the end of last night. But Veronica definitely saw something in the clippings on his wall.

CW is truly terrible at promos, they don't seem to realize how much the difference something enticing and something crappy can mean.

Well, this weeks was finally a good promo. Let's just hope this is what CW was waiting for to start actually promoting VM.

Good episode, even though it was almost just like My Mother, the Fiend last season (Veronica getting set up by someone to find a secret that would benefit that person). I'm also liking the Deam so far. Anyone else think he somehow ties into the rape?
Still, I'm saddened that appearently Mac isn't returning until the episode where the rapist is outed. Damn you, Big Love!

I don't get it. At all. There wasn't a single VM promo aired all week. Not once. The only people who saw it were the 2.85mil who were watching Tuesday night who didn't turn off their tvs the moment Rob Thomas's name appeared on the screen. What the fuck is CW thinking?

I don't have anywhere else to bitch about it but anyways, The CW's promo department is so fucking retarded. The OTH one this week, my god... The one this week focused on a single character who's about 8th billing and noone else, and that character being the one character who everyone watching the show hates. During sweeps they pull this, ugh.

Heh, I was actually just talking to my friend who was sharing the OTH gossip with me. I assume you're talking about Rachel? The gossip is that everyone assumes Mark is having an affair with her because she's become the main character. Oh, and he's always high or something.

Hehe, yeah. Truth is that I like Danneel's work playing her, and I liked where they were pushing her last season/first episode of this one, but since then she's reverted into the most useless on the show... but with more screentime, somehow. I don't hate her as much as the female fans of the show on the internet, but still. Mark says he likes her on the show because she ups the tempo, but seriously. They need to either make her human again like late S3, or get rid of her.
The good thing is that Mark is very aware of the internet community surrounding the show, and he has recognized in the past when we've complained...

I haven't seen Tuesday's episode yet. What's your excuse for not discussing it?
Anyway, it finally got a backseven order. That means the final four episodes will be a balls-out mystery arc, no mystery of the weeks. While I'd rather have 22 episodes than 20, the idea of four back-to-back episodes of pure mystery arc sounds quite awesome.

I thought that most of this week's episode was okay, but not as great as it can be. The last five minutes, however, were great. Really made up for a lackluster episode.
I'm especially tired of the Veronica/Piz stuff. I reeeeally hope they don't build up to any romantic thing between them.
Rapist speculation:
[spoil]Any chance Piz is the rapist? I want him gone!! [/spoil]

I thought the episode was pretty good, but the MotW was a bit blah, and detracted from it. But it certainly ended with a bang!
As to the rapist speculation:
[spoil]I say Moe, the RA.
But about Piz, since he's a regular I doubt he's the rapist, but maybe we'll get lucky and he's the bad guy for one of the other ones![/spoil]
Oh, and for anyone who is interested and doesn't know yet, the next mystery will be
[spoil]a murder mystery.[/spoil]
(The spoiler contains absolutely no specifics, just generally what type of crime it is.)

The next episode looks AMAZING! If they promote it enough it should get over 3 Million viewers for sure.
