Post Award Section Update: More Charts Added
http://www.worldofkj.com/awards/

Please bear with us. We'll be adding a lot more over a period of time and replacing some of the pictures and layouts (makeshift images).

The following are now available on the award site:

awards news curtesy Oscarwatch
Update schedule of oscar section
Award Calendar
The Contenders is now only exclusively available over the main site with new sorting abilities to identify trends.

Oscar section has 1 of 3 modules now operational:
RT Charts for best picture, actor, actress, supporting actor and supporting actress. Once again, analyse historical trends in voting.

Keep a look out for:
Better pictures : )
FYC Section
Adapted screenplay and original screenplay charts
Oscar History Section
Oscar Predictions

over the next week.

Enjoy. All feedback is appreciated. Just don't ask me to change the charts in any way hehehehee.

Note on News:

Still trying to find a better format for showing the news. Currently, I cannot locate a better looking RSS script translator. As soon as find one, we'll try to make it look much better.

Like the charts a lot, one note though is that the winners and year columns shouldn't be the same color. Also I think that once past the year, the 5 noms for each one should be ordered in a certain way, not randomly like it is now. Maybe by % or level of contender that year, or just the winners at the top of that year bracket and the rest of the noms below them, creating equal seperation. Or just seperate each year into their own tables, I guess. Otherwise for example you have like Sean Penn from one year and Adrian Brody from the next highlighted right beside each other, and it's a bit odd.

Thank you for the comments, Shack.

We will continue to grow and do different things like that. For now, I left the charts that are set up with seperating the years at the forum, but they'll be getting up. There are going to be many tools for all of us predictors to use. Original plan wasn't to open this until Dec. 1st so many more things would have been uploaded before anybody saw it, but we started early. I'm surprised we made it as quick as we did. It was a full days work the last two days. No sleep.

Here are some of the things to look for.

http://www.worldofkj.com/awards/

The Contenders will be a section of it's own. The awards section of the mainsite is going to be a giant tool for awards lovers all over the internet. Everything can't be done overnight (I wish it could  ), but it's going to evolve into much more.

There is the main chart. http://www.worldofkj.com/awards/contendersmain.php

You have the RT charts for the actors. These will soon be including this years contenders for those prizes, so you'll be able to track them when for the SAGs, Golden Globes, BAFTA, Oscars, and critics awards.

I'll probably do some kind of chart featuring just documentary films and just animated films. Perhaps foreign film nominees for an exclusive chart. Since there aren't many of those, the would probably be static charts, not automated.

Original and Adapted screenplay are coming.

We're getting news from the good folks over at Oscarwatch.

The data section is going to be filled with charts of all the winners and nominees from every year for things like the Oscars, The Golden Globes, SAGS, BAFTA, Directors Guild, Producer's Guild, and Writers Guild. When those awards are here, I'll do a writeup on it and work the charts in every way I can. I'll work in the contenders charts wherever I can, too.

I'll be making predictions and probaly get everything wrong and fall flat on my face.

The Calendar is there to follow everything as it unfolds, and there's basically something happening every few days starting in December, so it helps to keep track. Plus it's fun anticipating stuff.

There's still more, but that's good for now. We're already the best box office minded site on the net, and it's the number oriented nature of our thinking that this section plays to, so it should be fun for all of us, and I believe the statistic tools will also make us a formidable awards force and friend among the net's fans of this stuff, which would include the major outlets.

We definitely need you guys to support us, though. I couldn't understand why nobody had been commenting, but I guess we were having posting problems here. We can post now, so I wanna hear from everyone. Suggestions, comments?

Thanks, xia, much appreciated, and your help is always welcomed. :2thumbsup:

This chart was your idea, and it'll be fun to follow, espcially now that it's automated.

http://www.worldofkj.com/awards/metacri ... enders.php

I have to add some data to have it all up to date tonight. That'll definitely paint a picture. I want to ask arsi if there's a way that he can add something so we can sort that from 100 on down so we can get that kind of picture painted as we stack the top contenders next to eachother.

I had to re-say something because I'm tired and it showed.

nothing is placed in random. they're all sorted. however, everything can be sorted the way you want them to be by clicking the column names.

A special thank you to Zingaling, Shack, xiayun, Libs, zennier, and Squee for their support and comments. It's very much appreciated.

I do have a comment for the rest. When are you guys going to start supporting the mainsite and considering this a website with a forum, not just a forum that you never want to grow past what it is now?

There are people that work very hard at this site. Much harder than just reading and typing and clicking submit at the forums, and when I see things like this http://worldofkj.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24712 , it's discouraging that the multitude of box office fans here couldn't be bothered showing some support for the good job he does every week to try to give this place the credibility it deserves outside these forums, and yeah, the internet exists beyond these walls.

Of course, when it came to having an excuse to criticize, some of you were all over the opportunity. If I didn't know any better, after reading that ScottV thread, I would have sworn you guys were passionate about this site and it's content and credibility, but it looks like y'all were really only interested piling up on somebody.

Now here we are with a major announcement about the mainsite finally getting an awards section. The Contenders charts are now fully automated and improved 100 times over from what they were, and I swear, it seems like it's now considered a hassle to use them by some because they have to leave the forums to do it.

I'm just going to single out names and ask you guys right here for your opinions and suggestions. I'll keep the list short and then ask a new set after the first has posted.

What do you think

dolce
Ripper
baumer
MovieDude
Raffiki
MikeQ.
ScottV
Mood-Swing Jon
Killuminati510
Chris
Archie Gates
MadGez
Mr. X
Dr. Lecter
Christian

Ok, that's 15. I am not leaving anybody out, so if your name isn't there, don't worry, it'll be on an upcoming list, and by all means, don't feel you have to wait until I personally ask you to add your comments. Just remember, this is in it's infant stages right now, so plenty more is being done, but you guys are the #1 target audience, especially those of you who I know to be into this stuff, so don't be afraid to offer your advice or support. IT MATTERS!

Thanks, Gullimont. I hope the rest of it, including more expansion with the Contenders charts, is very useful to you and the others.

I'm not above begging for advice from everyone if that's what it takes.

I for one don't know who the hell tyler durden is. If he wants to remain anonymous that is perfectly his right but he can't also expect people to care as much about what he says.

I always just assumed Tyler Durden was Lecter's pen name.
I should also clarify that Lecter or nobody has commented about any of this being a problem for them (at least not that I know of), it's just me. It was actually a comment from dolce in that ScottV thread that really got me thinking about it. It can be a little frustrating seeing members here interested in other websites more than this one, or helping out other websites, but not helping this one. I don't mean any of that to come off as if I'm mad or think less of the members as people or anything, it's just a bit confusing to me is all. Why is there so much apathy toward the mainsite from the forum members? I guess we basically just come here to chat with forum members that we've gotten to know. That's cool, but it's also a bit frustrating to see sometimes.

Nitpicky comments first:

Font color on the charts is off, its a light font color on a light background (in fact anywhere this grey color is used it has to go)
I thin links that tak eyou away form KJ should pop up in a new window b/c you are navigating users away form the site.

Content wise, I think the awards seciton is amazing, though I liked tos ee how it looks with the new color scheme, which I think would help alot, my only complaint about hte section is really all the blue and the grey font. Also the font size is really small.

But in terms of content/use and getting information, its really well done.

Thank you, Cynthia. I will definitely forward your comments to the bABAmeister. I thought that the links that took us to other sites Were opening new windows.

I can't wait to see it with the new color scheme, too. Glad you like the conteney, so far, and I'm hoping to pack that section full of stuff that everyone will enjoy using.

@ Neostorm - I'm not sure what you mean, but I'll make sure arsi knows about it.
