I mean, I HIGHLY doubt that NBC will dare put Heroes up against 24. It'd get killed. Do you think they move it to a earlier time, or maybe a new night?
Eh, by that time Heroes will already have a loyal following, I doubt 24 will hurt it that much.
I just finished the last episode. Man, I love this series, but it definitely is giving me Lost-vibes. Which means great things for the first season, but the second... Hmm

I think it will hold up better than Lost because Lost undermined it self with the flashbacks. It wasn't just that there were so many flashbacks, that's bad enough, but what IMO really hurt Lost was that the flashbacks often undermined the island personas of the characters and reduced our caring about them.
Sweet Kate becomes crazy killer Kate who the marshal needs 6 guns to transport and yet she can somehow be easily held by a soccer mom with a gun on her when the woman isn't even looking at Kate she's looking at Sawyer.
Survivalist Locke is actually revealed as embarassingly sickeneningly pathetic in his backstory.
Doctor Jack is revealed to be a total dip who lets women run all over him in his backstory.
Sayid on the island has this sensitive man thing going, and in backstory he's a torturer.
And so on. It's like they made all these people we liked who seemed like regular folks and 1) removed their normalness from them so that we no longer identify with them 2) made most of them assholes, all in the flashbacks.
Claire and Charlie had flashbacks that were not too out of character with their island persona, but mostly I think it was handled badly. Even Sun comes across as down to earth and middle class on the island and in her backstory is a mafia princess? Meh.
Heroes won't have that problem though I agree the plot seems to be going a little too fast.
OK I guess I had one more Lost rant in me didn't I? Probably belongs in nitpicking and griping thread.

Oh, I definitley have to agree with this season going too fast.
I think the entire nuke and end of the world storyline was a big mistake honestly. I loved the opening credits about how these people will save humanity, but they have a long way to go yet, I thought that was brilliant. But in 1 season? Bleh. What I was expecting after that opening, was them saving the world at like the end of the series, not the opening act. Also it would've been interesting if what threatens humanity was kept a secret, kept mysterious... left to the imagination.
I would've liked
Season 1 - Become heroes, realize their powers. Get a grip and get better with them as the season goes on, use it to save people from crimes, Hayden Panitierre's dad, or other supervillians or what not. Focus on the character development, who these people are, etc... You wouldn't need much more than that for a first season.
I think that's part of what made Lost S1 so great, it was simple, there didn't try to pack too much on, where they made a mistake was packing in all these extra convoluted shit when they didn't need to as time went by.
If Heroes started like that, from there you still have tons of room to grow, you have the characters bonding together as a team, you have them becoming much stronger, you have them learning about why them. Etc. But becoming fully powerful and saving the world in a single season? Nothing good can come out of that.

I think the nuke is just the beginning. Frankly, I am not so sure that they will be able to stop the nuke and even if they can, that'll be just the beginning of their fight. I doubt we'll see the "heroes" getting all together within the next 5-10 episodes. It'll take a while...

wow...just caught the marathon on NBC tonight (no football grrrr ) I gotta say this is a very good show, got me hooked just like Lost...
Gotta admit I loved when the older Hiro (10 years?) showed up on the train speaking good english and had that samuri sword on his back...
goes to show that even if this season ends with the nuke that there will be important things to do for many season to come, kinda actually reminded me of Terminator...

Can't wait. Heroes is now my #2 non-reality show on tv actually, I love it.

It's a very good show and deserves its success. A new episode airs tomorrow night.

I would say Heroes is my number two show as well, behind Veronica Mars. It's better than Lost right now (not to say that Lost is bad, but Heroes is better and holding my attention more).

Wow. I just downloaded the first four episodes and watched them all in a row. What an awesome show this is.
And, hey, the senator dude just flew away from Horn-Rimmed Glasses Dude (Claire's father) and the Black Weird Symbol Dude (which appears everywhere on this show)!

Great episode. I agree it is going to be tough when 24 comes back. I wish I had a Tivo. I have two tvs so I will probably be forced to tape Heroes and watch it after 24.

Lovvvedd the episode last night, they're definitley in a groove.
I think Peter's ability is to mimic heroes close to him, that would explain how he can only fly when his brother's around too. The alternative would be that he can just do everything, which I think would be kind of lame.
Flying is awesome in this show.
Japanese guys worked really well last night too, I liked his friend in this one.
My favorite episode of the season thus far.

Actually if you are talking about him showing up at Nikki's house or whatever that wasn't him.

If one of the Heroes dies it will clearly be the Painter, no one else.
I agree with the mimicing powers thing ... that deffinatly could be his power ... I just love this show. And we still have a lot more to learn about the brains of Heroes ... it's clear that is the source of their power and to kill them you have to remove it.

If one has to go I'd prefer it be the woman with the kid. She's ok but kind of the weak link. The painter serves a great purpose in keeping this show feeling like a graphic novel.

Archie, I agree.
I originally didn't even like watching her story line, at least this week it became semi-interesting. I think the more she develops and understands her power, the cooler she will be. Next week could be a big one for her character.
