Quote:
Shark Tale is a 2004 CGI comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation. In the story, a young fish named Oscar (voiced by Will Smith) falsely claims to have killed the son of a shark mob boss to win favour with the mob boss' enemies and advance his own community standing. The film additionally features the voices of Jack Black as Lenny, Renée Zellweger as Angie, Angelina Jolie as Lola, Martin Scorsese as Sykes and Robert De Niro as Don Lino. Its original title was Sharkslayer, but the producers thought that this might provoke a degree of misunderstanding among the target audience of the film, children and families. Shark Tale is also one of the first three feature-length films to be made into a Game Boy Advance Video. It was released into theaters on October 1, 2004. The flim proved to be a box office success, making $367 million worldwide against its $75 million budget, and it was also nominated for an Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film.

UGH. Well, I haven't been to the theatre in 4 months, and my sister dragged me into this.

The movie is just so... lame. Nothing engaging about the storyline, animation is ok, no really likeable characters, not funny that much... The only thing I found neat was that they got the characters to look like the actors, that's all. Overall, it's probaly 1 of the worst, if not the worst animated movie.

I thought that the movie was very funny and it was interesting. The story was average and the characters looked like the actors that were doing the voices which was annoying but I still liked it. The animation was good but not great like Finding Nemo. The jokes were very urban and more adult than Pixar but thats what I expected from Dreamworks. Overall the movie was better than average but no Shrek, Shrek 2, or Finding Nemo, more on the level of Ice Age, not a classic but also not a forgettable movie.

Shark Tale was funny in a way. The sharks definetly had the best moments, and Scorcese does a surprisingly good job as a voice, especially his banter with DeNiro (after all, they are buddies in real life). The one big flaw of this movie is Oscar. He is just a loud lunkhead who won't shut up, and we really have no sympathy for him. Unlike Nemo, he just gets in trouble because of his own stupidity. Though some of the visuals were good, but the script need a little help, especially the character development. This is no Nemo, in fact, this is no El Dorado either.

**1/2 (out of ****).

Putrid. Obnoxious. Pop culture in-jokes should be an addition, not a foundation. D+

They might as well have had the pictures of the actor's faces on the fish, because they were just playing themselves with the fish all resembling them. Jokes were bad, the story was bad, and the only good thing was the animation, but even that wasn't enough to save it.

One of the worst animated films of recent memory and probably the worst theatrical CGI film ever. A disaster of a film. Funny only at times, and generally more annoying then funny. C

Just.....average. I expect better from Dreamworks. I saw it on an airplane, which isn't the best. I know it might have been better on the big screen. It was a good idea that just didn't work out. I rate it a C+.

P.S. My six year old watched it on the plane about 5 times. I guess SHE liked it.

Pretty funny and enjoyable movie, very entertaining
the story was a great idea, they manage to screw it over with those lame jokes

this is not the worst animated movie but, it is the worst CGI

One of the worst (if not the worst) CGI movie. Not in terms of looks, since it looks great, but there's absolutely nothing funny about this movie. It's not a terrible movie, but it's far from good.

Shark Tale has its moments, including Jack Black and Robert De Niro as entertaining shark mob bosses, but it’s hampered by unlikable characters, a cliche liar revealed storyline and hideous designs.
