I was hoping Lyn & Karlyn, who are already displaying some uncalled-for animosity, would go tonight.

Sarah is fine. Peter is a little insane.

David and Mary... I like them! The "we've never been around Asians," and "...we've never really...been around gay people" was funny. And I'm a fan of expanding horizons.

Dustin and Kandice, I like them, too.

I love Dustin and Kandice as well. Over this episode, it was clear they were a much much better team than the cheerleaders.

Surprised that the southern team is actually one of the kindest there, cussing and all.

Rob is an annoying dick, and not even in a fun way like Colin.

Tyler and James got a flat tire, and still grabbed second place. God I hate the alpha male, I wish they just wouldn't include them.

Classic AR quote of the week- Kimberly: "I hate riding on horses, it's like they have a mind of their own or something." Lol.

Great season so far.

If you guys were wondering what the heck Libs and I were talking about, by the way...

Television Without Pity does a recap of the show every week, courtesy of professional writer (I think she's a freelance journalist) Miss Alli, who meticulously -- and hilariously -- does the recappage. Seriously, it's brilliant.

I still maintain Miss Alli is Libs' long-lost doppelganger.

Oh, shut up, Tom and Terry. Dustin & Kandice got their spot in the line fair and square considering you walked past the ticket agent. Oh horrible them, trying to get ahead in the race! What are those two thinking?!

If there's one thing I hate in this race, it's people who turn stupid things like line "cutting" into morality bitchfests.

Noooooooo

Thanks for eliminating Duke & Lauren, show. I loved them! Damn their idiotic Fern beyotch for ruining their chances.

Oh well, at least there are still plenty of other people to potentially root for.

I would really really like Dustin & Kandice to maybe win, it would be nice to see an all-female team finally win this show after ten seasons.

I thought it was interesting that no money was given for this leg of the race and that teams were not allowed to beg or sell things to raise money.Unless a team survives a non-elimination round they will always get some money each leg even if its only a dollar. This looks like another new twist in the game.IMO, one reason Duke and Lauren were eliminated is because they had run out of money and had to walk to the roadblock. They didn't get more money until they had sold flowers and by then they were in last place.

Sad to see Duke and Lauren go. I lovveee this season so far, what a step up.

By the way, from last season's thread:

haerpinot wrote:
Anyone watch tonight? Thought it was a pretty entertaining leg, what with the airport drama, the girl teams getting lost, the bottle-smashing detour, the drunk German guy, the last two teams on each other's tails till the end, etc. Sad to see Wanda/Desiree go (over the damn Pinks no less!) but they really imploded on this leg.

Their elimination however does prolong two current TAR curses! First one started with TAR6:

11th place is always a male best friends team who think they're amusing (Avi/Joe, Ryan/Chuck, John/Scott)
10th place is always a completely incompetent female-female team (Meredith/Maria, Megan/Heidi, Lisa/Joni)
9th place is always a seemingly competent female-female team who place high on the first leg and gradually decline from there (Lena/Kristy, Debbie/Bianca, Wanda/Desiree)

Then there is the one that stretches back to the first season. The 9th place is team is always either a female/female team or a parent/child team. Though for the first time this year the 9th place team was both!

Why does my brain store such useless trivia....

It would follow perfectly here, if not for the double elimination thing of the first round. 1st out: Islamic Browns fans. 2nd leg: Cheerleaders. 3rd leg: Duke and Lauren, parent and daughter, was a top 3 finisher in the first leg! Vipul and Arti chang wrench it a bit, but it's still fairly creepy.

You mean most of us are rooting for Dustin and Kandice? I thought I was the only one.

Most of the other teams kinda annoy me. I don't mind the ex-druggies or the Cho Bros, but I don't love either team. I'm kinda tired of the "my fake knee won't work" crap. Tom and Terry weren't bad until the "linecutting" incident. If only Duke and Lauren had beaten them. And I don't necessarily hate the "hick" couple. They just get under my skin very easily.

Peter is officially a total freak. I like Sarah, but I absolutely cannot stand him. I hope she dumps him at the end of the race.

Favorites list
1. Dustin and Kandice (I just love them, and this show really, really needs an all-female team to win)
2. Dave and Mary (Mary nags Dave a little too much, but they are both sweethearts and you can tell Mary is really getting a lot out of this experience)
3. Erwin and Godwin (they're actually a little bland, but they're pretty nice in general)
4. Lyn and Karlyn (they annoy me sometimes [like "She got what she deserved" after one of the BQ's got cut, but they're decent most of the rest of the time)
5. Tyler and James
6. Peter and Sarah (entirely because of Peter the Emotionless Robot, if it was Sarah and someone cooler, they'd be higher)
7. Rob and Kimberly (and they're not even really that bad, they're nowhere near Jonathan/Victoria or Colin/Christie level; I actually kind of liked Kimberly's "I forgot you went to school for that" comment)

Little happy the boyfriends got eliminated (especially since Dustin & Kandice were spared), they were starting to bug. I did like when one of them got out of the boat and tried to pull it, though.

So, in conclusion...

Go Dustin & Kandice. And...

FREE SARAH.

I don't know if this has really been discussed much, but...

This is one of the best seasons on record. Physically demanding legs, tasks that depend on skill and not necessarily luck, no amazingly hateful people (other than like Peter the Robot), no random bunching, etc.

I got so bored with this show last season during The BJ & Tyler Variety Hour (Look at us! We're wacky! WACKY! Pay attention to us! Aren't we soo funny! LOOOOOK AT US), I'm so thrilled to be actually enjoying it again.

I love Dustin and Kandice for:

A) Running their own damn race
B) Being irritated by Peter like the rest of the free world

OMG It's like this show's producers have been listening to everything I've been complaining about. Easily the best season since the season with Chip/Kim, Colin/Christie, Brandon/Nicole, Bowling Moms, etc.

They finally got rid of that idiotic "last team to arrive at a non-elimination leg loses money and possessions" rule and added something that might actually have an effect in the race like incurring a 30-minute penalty at the next pit stop if they don't arrive first. Harsh, but not a non-event like previous non-elims were.

My ever-changing favorites list:

1) Dustin & Kandice (Go BQs)
2) David & Mary (Mary still nags Dave too much, but I also like them a bunch)
3) Tyler & James (they continue to grow on me)
4) Erwin & Godwin (still kind of bland, but I like them)
5) Lyn & Karlyn (my goodness, cheer up a little bit, they're always so grumpy)
6) Rob & Kimberly (their ugly American comments tonight were rather unflattering tonight)
7) Peter & Sarah (Sarah might be the coolest person to be saddled with a horrible partner in this show's history)

I hated Sarah since the start, with the whole "My leg isn't working right" spiel, even though they've been at the top of the pack most of the race. But, I'm definitely feeling bad for her having to deal with Peter. What a mental idiot that guy is.

I'm so annoyed with Mary's whining, but I am glad for them. They're doing very well for a team that anyone might expect to be booted week 1 or 2. David doesn't get mad at her, and just takes things in stride.

Rob is just a maniac, and Kimberly isn't much better.

I'm not feeling a whole lot for grumpy Lyn and Karlyn, recovering addys Tyler and James, and so-so Erwin and Godwin. So, like everyone else, go Dustin and Kandice!

And I agree with Libs. I'm glad they changed things up for the non-elim legs. That no-money thing was ridiculously pointless.

Woohoooooooo go Dustin and Kandice, 1st place.

Dave & Mary have some great luck. I was hoping Lyn and Karlyn would be eliminated because they are really unpleasant, but whatever. Actually, I'm pretty sure it's just Karlyn who's the big sourpuss, Lyn actually seems nice.

None of the teams really escaped from being unpleasant or stupid this leg. It's a race Cho's no time for alliances that don't seem to benefit you in the least.

If Rob & Kim and Lyn & Karlyn are the next two eliminated, I'll be really, really happy. I really like the other four, and would probably be happy with any of them winning it.

I think a part of me si rooting for Dustin & Kandice so hard just because this show really needs to have an all-female team to win.

Bowling Moms have gotten the farthest so far with fourth place, right?
