You don't belong at KJ if you haven't seen these Movies!!!
All right boys and girls. Its time to find out who are the boys and Girls, and who are the Men and Women at KJ.
I have before me 11 Genres. Within each of these genres is 10 films. Meaning that by Saturday I am going to list 110 films. For the most part some of them are going to be givens, in fact most of them will be givens. For these so called films, they are going to be the type of films that define the genre, the so called reason it exists.
I give you my garantee right now, none of these films you will not have heard of. Though not all of them will be the largest of hits.
So Im asking each and everyone of you right now. Are you a real movie fan, have you looked at many films over the years. If you think you are, proudly announce it in this thread before I mention the movies.
Now, I wont be so unreasonable before you all go, 110 movies, theres always a chance he'll mention a movie I've heard of, but just havent seen. So I will give you three misses. You are allowed to have not seen three of the movies on this list. Anything more than that would just be unreasonable in my book.
It just comes down to one more thing! Are you man enough to put your reputation on the line for Thegun's movie picks? I have faith in at least 45 of the members here. I know you can do it. Step up guys and girls, cross that line. Show me the true movie fan in you.
Tomorrow I will reveal the genres.

It has nothing to do with my favorites, or yours. All of these lists that have been up lately have been about personal opinion. I am giving a list that everyone should know. I've been going through a lot of data to prepare for films which fall into each genre.
I'll tell you right now though that Rocky Horror Seems unlikely, as I am not have a cult or musical genre. Those were the only two I decided not to include, as I figured musicals would most likely be the hardest one for most people, as with Cult.

That's a silly request, because there are NOT 110 movies from 11 genres that ALL movie fans "should have" seen.
For example, I will not have seen more than half of your list for the Horror genre cuz I just don't do horror often. So right away, I'm out of the game and an "unresonable" movie fan? Zingaling may have seen all of your horrors, but if you include "romance" or something, I'm sure he'd be out too, and that certainly doesn't make him a "bad" movie fan. Yknow? Even dolce may have managed to skip over 4 or 5 "action" films because she was using that time to watch italian ones. :o Yknknow? I'd actually guess that a significant maJORity of users here will miss more than three, based solely on the fact that we're mostly young and don't all have the same taste. In fact, I'll go so far as to say 90 percent of the people who claim "in" will be "out" by the time it's over. :O
That disagreement aside, I'm definitely interested in the list, so go right ahead.

Unlike loyal, I do fear Jason Voorhees, JAWS and any werewolf that shows up at my door when i am all out of silver.

Believe me my friend, Its like I noted, they are not going to be my personal favorites, they are the types of films that are always ranked high, they are undeniably films that you really should have seen, if you consider yourself that guy that always knows when someone quotes a movie. If you have taken the time to explore usually most people's tops for these genres, you will do ok. If that's the case, their wont be too many films on this list you havent seen. I would say the person that misses the most, misses under 10

I want a few more people involved first. I will then list the genre's at 5:00 tonight, It's 10:30 AM by me right now. Then I will start listing the films.
Its not that unreasonable. I will close the amount of people at 5, those who accept the challenge.
As of now: Not sure if Mr. X wants to be on or not.

I would say the person that misses the most, misses under 10 Well I understand what you're going for, and I guess I should wait to see just how widely-seen the films you picked are, but until then, I am still very doubtful that any such list will ever be able to be called "what you should have seen". It just strikes me as illogical. Either that, or you're greatly over-estimating about 75 percent of those 45 you had faith in. But ok, lets just wait for the lists, hopefully i'll be proven wrong.

Can't we just have fun with this thread? It's not like you have no penis if you haven't seen some of these film...unless you are a female, then I hope you really have no penis, cause that would just be strange if there really were hermaphrodites that post here.

Yeah, baumer, my intent is certainly not to bring down the thread. I am very interested in how the list turns out. I guess I just think making it some kind of game where it is "unreasonable" to miss more than three is kinda silly. That pretty much equals "winners" and "losers" (those left standing and those not), and I don't think it's really a fair thing to say, based on so many things, that one movie-watcher is better than another. Ok, now I'm done until lists are posted - none of what I'm saying makes any difference until then anyway.

One other note, is that none of the films will be more than 50 years old, with the exception of one film, for although I have a lot of favorites there, I'm being truly realist with this thread and dont expect most people to have seen this movies. For that matter, no movie will be from the last 2 years as well, with the exception of one or two from 2005.
Its not like Im going to throw in the Departed, Frankenstein, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, because although they are highly recommended films, not everyone will have seen them. Hence perhaps this might lead in to another thread eventually.

All right, ill give you the Genre's now, just so you guys can just think for a while. There are three dual genres, that will have 5 films each listed.
Action
Comedy
Horror
Sci Fi
Western/ War
Popcorn at it's finest
Thriller
Family
Romance
Crime/Drama
Sports/ Musical
All right, since some of you are claiming me unrealistic, I have 110 films, but I will let you remove one of the categories. You can choose which one you do not want to include, so in the words of the knight in Last Crusade, "Choose Wisely" your weakest category. Then the three misses should be much mor realistic.
So it will come down to you knowing 97/110 films. Im sure we can all find this reasonable.
