In point of fact, we did learn something new. We learned that Jack is responsible for driving his dad off the wagon. We know Jack will later narc on Christian for operating surgery while drunk, costing Christian his job. This eventually leads to his death in Sydney. As a result of this knowledge, every island based event in which Jack is involved now has a different subtext.

Yes but with Eko, Michael, Sawyer and Kate being killers, not to mention Jin being at the least someone who beats people up, driving your dad off the wagon is hardly a major offense.

The show was ok. However, it is becoming almost a chore to watch the show. The main theme of the show seems to the inability to communicate!!! No one can ever answer a simple fuckin' question!!! I have been watching for two + years and I still don't understand anything. Why did Juliet burn her muffins? Why was Gale/Ben kicked out of the book club???
Somewhat seriously, I don't understand the whole Jack/Dad/marriage thing. I never liked Julie Bowen's character, never really understood Jack falling for her guilt trip/crap. Let me get this straight, Ep 1 she loves him unconditionally, EP 2 she doesn't realize he's a dedicated surgeon leaves him, EP 3 files for a divorce and can't simply tell him who her lover is? B.S. Jack's dad can't give him a straight answer? Deus ex machina, mutha fuckas
I really like how the "Others" are really us (U.S.), and the plane survivors are the innocent victims of the war on terror. When it seemed at other times it was the reverse (both on the show and in real life). However, I can't watch another episode on torture, it is becoming boring and tiresome.
The reason most of us complain so bitterly is we love/loved the show and we are fanatics.

I loved the show throughout its first two seasons (especially when everyone started hating Season 2), but I just didn't feel it for the season premiere last week. It just didn't feel right to me. Maybe they set themselves up too much with the big opener (first five minutes). But I still love the show, and I hope this week's episode, a Sun/Jin episode, doesn't drag down "Lost" as most Sun/Jin episodes do.

I've been fairly quiet thus far.
I'm guessing the creation of the Hysteria Lane surburb was to poke fun at DH, and not something the creators thought of beforehand when designing the seasons.

What exactly did you think of the season premiere? I take back my comments about you and bABA always complaining. I've realized that I need the complaining to survive... I NEED IT!!!

Well, I don't agree with Arsi's boycott. I've given so much love to Lost over the first year, I just need to know there's something still left for me.
As for the premiere, I don't really know what to say. So little was achieved storywise, I liked the Sawyer bit, Jack and Kate were both on autopilot, I didn't care for the "big reveal" during the opening sequence.
I thought Ethan was superhuman but I guess he was just a handyman obsessed with random babies.

It's weird coming into this thread and seeing spots of negativity regarding Lost, it feels a little like I've entered bizzaro World of KJ, or the bitterness fiesta at TWoP.

Said the person still actually watching the show. Some light. I believe we became disillusioned at around the same time.

I'm surprised, I thought the couple of references they made to Batman might get you curious.

I finally saw the first episode. Was too busy till now.
Count me unimpressed. A generic episode with the pre-credits sequence being the only standout.
Does Jack have to cry in every single of his flashback episodes? Is it something that Matthew Fox is contractually obligated for?
Anyway, meh.

MUCH better episode than last week's premiere! We found out ALOT.
Warning: Spoilers from today's episode!
1) Sun - Promiscuous girl....
2) Jin - Smarter than we think
3) Sayid - Not as smart as we think
4) The others have constant contact with the outside world! (The baseball game was great!)
5) The others know EXACTLY how to get people off of the island?

There. I've filled this week's needed quota of negitivity and annoying bitching. Now shut up, y'all.
Loved the ending though. Jack reaction was priceless.

It feels weird that Lost is taking place in November 2004 at the moment. That feels creepy, almost as if I'm living in the future or something. That means they all missed Thanksgiving

I liked it overall. Sayid screwed up, but I think his mistake was more that he didn't trust Jin. If he had trusted Jin from the beginning things might have went different. I can't wait for next week. I want to see what happened to Locke, Desmond and Eko.
