Why does this show suck so bad now?
I remember watching the first season and being SOOOO fascinated by everything...
Then I miss all of last season... and now...
It sucks.
How could it do a 180 in just 1 season?!

I watched Season 1 strait through and the first half of season 2 strait through ... the biggest fall-out regarding the show ... IMO ... is the way they have handled Jack, Kate and Saywer.

Yeah its the same way I feel now, I really wanted it to improve on the season premiere after its disappointing season 2 run. Had it not been for season 1 being real good, I would have easily gave up on Lost after its 2nd season finale. They really really need to cut back on the flashbacks and concentrate on the crisis on the Island

That episode sucked. I have never seen so many commercials in such a short period of time in my life. I am shocked ABC can get away with this.

Yes, there were quite a lot of commercials. But the commercial breaks were a tad shorter than usual.
I think the episode still probably came up to around 43 minutes or so.

Not such a great ending, but that opening scene was pretty damn shocking, and as always I can't wait to see the next episode.
At this point, I can't see Jack, Sawyer, and Kate all getting out without the Others letting them (at least to some extent) go, but I'm not about to say something I couldn't take back later.

Think Jack cried 3 times in this episode. New record it seems.
As for episode, incredibly dull save for that beginning.

You know what? It was a great premiere. Jack is still my favorite character. I don't care what anyone else thinks of him. Lost still has it goin on.

Good premiere, great beginning.
Didn't the name "Ben" come up during the show? Who is Ben (besides Henry Gale)?

Just wait and watch the episode online. Just finished it, 30-second commerical breaks. Not bad! The bear game was hilarious, as was Sawyer's reaction.

I like how ABC cannot win with "Lost". First, they aired too many reruns during a season (even though it is no different than any other network series, excluding 24). Now, they supposedly aired too many commercials.

People complain way, way, way too much.
I barely even go into this thread anymore because everyone nitpicks every single minute detail of this show to death, and when they're not nitpicking, they're complaining about something.
No one I know seems to hate Lost as much as people here.

Exactly. And I don't hold it against people here because they have a right to complain, but sometimes it is a bit irritating, since anyone I know that watches still enjoys it. It's almost like "Are me and my friends too simple to nitpick the show?"
Unfortunately, I did have a qualm or two with last night's episode, and I couldn't even discuss it, because I feel like I would be sucked in to the overall feel of the thread, and start ranting and raving about anything and everything.
Lost still rocks, and the commercials were about the same. If ABC aired Lost in January without reruns, and ran the premiere commercial free, people would complain that the rest of the season isn't commercial free.

Don't worry -- Jack is my favorite character, too -- has been since the beginning.

The biggest problem I have with Lost now-a-days are the now pointless flashbacks. There is nothing new I can learn from a Jack Flashback, stop having them. Same with hurley, charlie, etc....
We still need to find out how Locke got paralyzed, but other than that I don't care!!

I actually kinda liked the flashback tonight. The AA scene broke my heart about five different times. When the leader said Jack's dad was sober for 50 days, and Jack still wanted to kill him? Jesus. . .

I didn't feel sorry for Jack's father at all.
Oh and were we supposed to hate Jack's wife? Because I did and wasn't sure if that was what they were intending.

I despise JAck and his abundance of flashbacks as much as the next person but you know what?
I don't know if it's just me but this flashback follows, in progression, from then last two we've had from Jack and I see it building something for him. Am I stupid to hope that they might actually give his character some kind of great developmental arc or something?
I absolutely hated the AA scene though. one of the worst ever in Lost.

Jack brings some nice unintentional laughs.
"You think I'm an idiot?", while fooling around with the chain.
"Oh, you must be Jack.", when crazy-look Jack storms into AA meeting.
Comedy gold.
