Eh..... One of those movies that has all of its best parts in the trailer and the rest of the movie is just filler. Unlike Barnyard, the comedy wasn't that great, so it didn't make up for the un-original story..... A good one to rent on DVD. :|

Cute fun, but in a year overflowing with computer-generated offerings for the family, it's hard to give a film this slight (and forgettable) more than a mild recommendation. Catch a matinee or rent the DVD down the road. B-.

Although they've seriously gotta give the "animals returning to nature" thing a rest, this was a good enough example of that storyline. The voices were fun, the animation was good - the fur was especially mindblowing in IMAX 3D!

(I just hope we don't get a bunch o' yahoos describing CGI as a genre, again! It's just a media, like ink and cells, or cinematography for that matter. Despite currently being used primarily for kid's movies, CGI is only the kinda pencil ya write/draw your story with.)

4 out of 5.

(If you've got the chance, pony up the extra $$$ for the IMAX 3D - crystal clear, beautiful depth, and quite well used in Open Season.)

Eh, just an average representative of the flood of new CG-animated flicks. This is is incredibly silly, but, unlike Robots for instance, it is somewhat funny in parts. Though with the premise fairly funny, they could have taken more out of its potential. Remains just mediocre.

It was an average animated movie. There's nothing really wrong with it and it's a cute enough diversion, but compared to some of the other animated offerings we've seen over the past few years, it's entirely forgettable.
