Harry's haircut looks terrible. Not exactly how I pictured Umbridge, but not bad, either.

Yeah, why is his hair so short? In the books, it's always unruly...
Ron's hair is shorter too -- although it was a bit long in the last one.

It makes sense to have shorter hair: Harry gets more self-conscious as he drowns deeper in puberty.

First Harry's hair is way too long, not it's basically a buzz cut. I think it looked best (and most 'book-like') in Prisoner of Azkaban.

Yea, everyone looked their best in Azkaban, imo.

Not a fan of the short hair, but I'm still greatly anticipating this film.

Umbridge is going to be a treat. She looks almost exactly as I imagined. The appearance of being clean and respectable looking on the outside, with a face that shows who she truly is: a cold, hard bitch. Staunton is going to be great, no doubt, too.
I don't have a problem with Harry's haircut; it's about time he got one. The first picture of him actually looks pretty good, I think. Were their length stipulations in the book? Probably, but I can't remember. I only remember the book saying his hair being unruly, and with the length it is at now, it can still be "unruly" (although in the film, his hair has usually always been fairly well made up most of the time anyways, so it doesn't really change anything).
Also, I think McGonagall plays a more pivotal role in this book, so I look forward to seeing more of the wonderful Maggie Smith.
PEACE, Mike.

And book 5 is the emo book.
Looks like fantastic production design-that-will-be-ignored-by-all-awards again. Not a surprise but yeah.

I think that the haircut is so weird because we're not used to it, but it could definitely work in motion.

I don't know how about you guys, but the haircut is actually the last thing I'd be concerned about. I just hope they can do justice to the book. It's but second-favorite of the series (behind Goblet of Fire) and there is really a whole lot of stuff in it that I think should be in the film. I am hoping for a longer running time than the last film, at least 5-10 minutes longer.

^^ Spanky needs new glasses.
As to the haircut, it makes him look more mature, he looks like a young man instead of a kid. And that fits his taking on more responsibility and feeling like he has to take charge. Besides, long hair is such a staple of fantasy novels and movies, that it's good to see a movie break out of the mold.
