Uh oh DH down 5 million from last year. Though the premiere has been heralded as a return to season one roots, it should be consistent from here on. Unless Marc Cherry becomes lazy again.

GO Fox animated shows! Die War at Home!

Im not a fan of DH but still the ratings are higher than what CSI got, its nice to see WAT holding its ground too despite what people thought that it was riding the coat tail of CSI and Im not even a fan of WAT. Im thinking that WAT will continue to whoomp Brothers & Sisters ass when ratings for the latter show continues to drop

Ya know, those ratings aren't that bad for EHC. If 2.5M viewers were willing to watch a repeat at one of TV's crappiest hours, surely that should translate to half-decent numbers for first-run episodes.

Great for Desperate Housewives. Yes, its premiere is down by 5 million viewers from season 2, but that's to be expected given how much of a high the show was in coming off of its first season. I mean, it beat CSI and everything. So, if this continues, ABC may have the top 2 programs on TV.

Brothers & Sisters did relatively well, although that erosion in the second half hour doesn't seem promising. Let's see how it does next week.

CBS has a very solid lineup. I'm glad The Amazing Race is back to pulling in 10-11 million viewers, considering it was almost on life support last season.

I'm so pleased to see TAR doing well again. Who would've thought it would be compatible with 60 Minutes?

I love how Berman is calling DH "once hot" when it's what the second highest premiere of the season, beyond Grey's Anatomy by less than 2 million viewers? I expect it to hold well since the premiere was generally well-received.

Brothers & Sisters will be pummelled by Without a Trace (which is finally out of that damned CSI shadow) in the weeks to come.

Yup it will get pummelled even more considering WAT had a considerable lead and didnt have a lead in show to inflate its ratings. WAT will continue to whoop Brothers & Sisters ass big time in the ratings in the weeks to follow

I'm pretty happy with these ratings.

CBS is solidifying a decent Sunday line up making up a little for what it's losing on Thursdays.

The Desperate Housewives premiere did pretty well considering the backlash season 2 endured.

Season 1 ended with 30+ million viewers and season 2 returned with 28 million. Season 2 finished with 25-27 million? And followed with the third season premiere with 23+ million. That's not too bad at all. I expect it to level off around 20-21 million for the season hopefully not dipping under 20 million very often... but the season average will surely drop under 20 million with the repeats.

Brothers and Sisters had a very decent premiere. I think if it levels off with around 13-14 million, it won't be that bad. It's almost on par with what Boston Legal used to do after DH. Far less than GA yes, but then again I don't think anything will be all that much more successful in that timeslot anymore... especially with Without a Trace providing tough competition, something neither BL nor GA had.

CSI and DH will probably battle it out for the 2nd rated show of the week until Idol comes along. CSI will beat DH in season average though with higher repeat ratings.

Well, American Idol will take up the top 2 positions with their double night airing, so do you mean it will be the top scripted show or at least the second top scirpted show?

I think CSI will probably still come on top with season averages since its repeats will fair better than Grey's Anatomy... but ABC has really revamped itself. It may not be obvious with the number of viewers but they are riding high on 18-49 key demo right now, which is where all the money lies in TV.

Why is nobody considering how football being moved to network TV on Sunday night affected DH? Girls watch football and guys watch Desperate Housewives. Enough that it could easily be why it's down a little bit.

I honestly do not think that CSI will be third amongst DH and GA. And this has nothing to do with my GA hate, because I'm also talking about a show I like, DH. CSI has proven to be a steady performer on CBS, often keeping up with its season average, whereas shows like DH and GA tend to go down after their premieres. I'm not saying CSI will be number one, but considering around 3 million separate first and third, I don't think it's out of the question that CSI will start winning from here on out.

Yea I agree. One reason for that I think is that almost every CSI episode can stand alone by itself, where GA and DH cannot. I think CSI will end up beating both for the season, if not with first-run episodes then with repeats. It will be interesting to see the numbers this Thursday.
