Post CBS Monday Night discussion thread
Might as well have one, the individual threads for each wouldn't have enough activity to support themselves thanks to no water cooler talk, and I think most people tune into the lineup as a package.

Watched the rerun finales of Old Christine and Two and a Half Men last night. Never seen Christine before, I liked it quite a bit actually, though the twist cliffhanger was a bit silly. Two and a Half Men was much much better than it had been at the start of the season when I abandoned it, definitley a fun episode, and I'll keep watching for now. Loved the older episode they played after it too, I'd forgotten how funny this show can be when it ... doesn't suck. :)

How I Met Your Mother, I'm looking forward to the return a lot, my favorite new show of last season. I didn't catch the episode last night, I missed with the new time schedule, but I would've if I had the oppurtunity.

And I'm interested in The Class, I'll check it out for sure. Good concept really.

I have to say that this is one of the most promising full comedy lineups that I've seen in a while. Nostalgia Thursday night on NBC with Will and Grace, My Name is Earl, and The Office, it was nice and all, but I love this because it's sitcoms, something not thriving lately, and this is the place to watch them.

Only extremely old people(Im talking ancient babylon time people too, the ones who witnessed the birth of dinosaurs) watch the CBS monday night line up. I mean come on, Old Christine, Two and 1/2 men and CSI Miami. Who watches these unless you intentionally created a mock thread?

"The Class" is ridiculously bad. At least the pilot was. But, looking back on the "Friends" pilot (The Class is co-created by one of the creators of Friends), that wasn't so great either.

The last episode of Two and a Half Men was ridiculously bad, but other times I watched off and on, it wasn't bad.

Old Christine was okay when I watched, but not great.

Um, excuse me, I watch How I Met Your Mother/Two and a Half Men/Old Christine.

You can go crawl in a trash can.

I don't mean to be rude, but the stats do show that a majority of the viewers of those shows are quite older. It isn't the entire viewership, but it is quite a large percentage.

I'm looking forward to the new eps of NAOOC, mainly 'cause Scott Bakula's going to be guest starring. It'll be nice to see him on TV again; haven't seen him since Enterprise ended.

Can't wait for 2.5 Men. LOVE that show!

I will. Being in a trash can is better than subjecting oneself into a dose of Old Christine/ 2&Half Men line up :nonono: . A line up that can be worse than that would be the old NBC comedy lineup of Good Morning Miami/Suddenly Susan and ABC comedy lineup that has According to Jim/Freddy

I still prefer my sitcoms to all the crime dramas, any medical shows, etc. Burn in hell roid. ;)

Just watched the Class, and oh my god, it really is awful. I'll watch a few more episodes, but yeah, it's bad.

CBS' Monday lineup stinks now. HIMYM has degenerated intro crap, The Class stinks, Two and a Half Men is awful now, and The New Adventures of Old Christine has always sucked. Dreyfuss is incredibly unfunny and grating to boot.

The Class: Bad pilot. Bland acting, no laughs, and it was hard to get any of the characters yet, didn't care for them. Suicidal guy, gay guy, stay at home guy, spoiled wife, golddigger, the whole don't know where your life is thing wasn't a terrible idea, but I wish they were more original with the approach, they didn't have to nail it in our skulls. Dunno where the show will go from here too, now that the mini-reunion is over? Didn't light a fuse like HIMYM last year, that's for sure.

How I Met Your Mother: Kind of a sappy episode, but it was tieing up the end of last season I guess. Depressed Marshall didn't work that well.

Two and a Half Men: Ditto as the one above, odd that it followed such a similar storyline. Hoping for the real beginning of the season next week.

Old Christine: Didn't like it as much as the first episode I saw, a bit too feminine for me this time around, the episode kind of felt like the leads relationship in this one... wishy washy, not enough spark.

And I actually like this year's lineup by the way, The Class on paper is more interesting than Out of Practice which I never watched, and I think Old Christine is a lot fresher than King of Queens. The other 2 are fine.

How I met your Mother's only chance is to make Barney the main character or as close to it as they are able. I'm increasingly getting sick of the rest of them.

The Class was terrible, Lizzy Caplan was the only good thing about it.

I'll just stick with HIMYM/Two and a Half Men/Old Christine, methinks.

Heh, glad everyone else agreed with me on The Class. When I saw that pilot, I had nightmares for a week.

Anyway, I didn't watch any of the other CBS shows last night, only CSI: Miami. Sometimes, it's a good show, and sometimes... it's just so ridiculously bad. Plus, I haven't watched Miami in a long time, so all the plot developments from last night were a mystery to me.

So much negativity. The Class wasn't that bad. I laughed quite a bit. I can see potential,
but they have to cut some of the characters. There are way too many right now.

Barney keeps that show from ever completely sucking. Neil Patrick Harris deserves an Emmy nom for his character, the best new character last season. He's hilarious.

The Class was okay, but I just don't see how the premise is going to keep it running long, and the overused stereotypes will get old quick.

My problems with the Class:

1. The show's characters are way too obnoxious. And unfunny.

2. The actors and actresses all seem to be holding back from bursting into a giggle fit, because they think this will be the next big sitcom. Let's hope it won't be.

Edit: Not only the next big sitcom, but they probably think this will be the next "Friends". I hope not.

Then again, "Friends" wasn't at its best in its first episodes. I might tune in again, to see if improvements are made. I won't hold my breath.

How I Met Your Mother was, as always, hilarious tonight. SWARLEY!

It was nice to see the supremely underrated Sara Rue on Two and a Half Men. I miss Less Than Perfect.

I didn't like the first few episodes of The Class but lately it has been really funny. The little "groups" they've broken the show down into work really well with Lizzy Caplan (of "Freaks and Geeks" fame) and Jason Ritter having great chemistry together, not to mention consistently hilarious storylines.

Anyone else still watching The Class?

I love HIMYM.

I'm still watching The Class by the way, since it is that 30 minute slot between Mother and Heroes, why not. Tonight was a bit of a lesser episode, but overall it has improved 150%... Caplin and Ritter are on a roll. It's a solid B sitcom, we don't get much of the genre, so it's nice to have solid and improving show.

I HATED the pilot for The Class, and refused to watch the show ever since. Last night, I sat down and turned the TV on, and it was 7:30 on the dot (CTV in Canada airs The Class at 7:30), and it came on. I was a bit reluctant to watch, but decided to give it a shot, after a few people here said it had gotten better.

And you know what? I laughed a few times. There's actually some good comedic timing, and overall they've taken out certain "laugh track" moments, which made the pilot seem fake. Maybe they actually film the show in front of a studio audience, I don't know. Either way, the show was a lot better and funnier than I had expected it to be. I just might have to give it a second chance now.
