It's suprisingly simple. The question:
Are you married?
If yes: Amelia is married If no: Leila is married

Very good, David. The simplicity was the key to that one.

The Island of Liars and Knights
Those are the riddles about the Island of Liars and Knights. This island is exclusively populated by Liars and Knights:
Liars - Inhabitans of the Island who ALWAYS lie
Knights - Inhabitans of the island who ALWAYS say the truth
Kazir's wife
RIDDLE #3
"Did Kazir pass the test?" asks Annabel.
"Well, unfortunately, not," replies the Wizard. "if it wasn't for the three words condition, he'd have made it, but now that he was confronted with a new situation he couldn't say a word"
"What happened then?" asks Alexander.
"He was banned from the court. But then a weird thing happened. The unmarried daugher liked Kazir and she begged her father to give Kazir another chance. The King finally gave in and invited Kazir again." tells the Wizrd. "When Kazir came to the King on the next day he said the he knew the answer. The King however said: "It's too late now. I have a new task for you.
My daughers will come out. One of them will be dressed in green, the other one in blue. Their faces will be covered. Your task is NOT to find out the name of the married daugher, but to find out which of them is married, the one in green or the one in blue. Once again, you can only ask one questiona dn the question must not contain more than three words!"
Both daughers came in...."
Question:
What three-words question shall Kazir ask now?

I just noticed this thread today, and have been spending now one hour reading through it. I have to say that I really love these riddles, Lecter. They're absolutely cracking. I'm a bit curious about where you're getting them from though. Is it a riddle book? If so, then I would really want to own it. Is it perhaps called die Insel der Ritter und Diebe?

Hey, Shad, as one of the community's smartest members, I was waiting for you to finally notce this thread. Glad that you like them
The riddles, indeed, do come from a riddle book. It is called:
"Satan, Cantor und die Unendlichkeit" ("Satan, Cantor and the Infinity") by Raymond Smullyan. In the book, it is in fact not The Island of Liars and Knights, but the Island of Knaves and Knights (Die Insel der Ritter und Schurken), but I thought that a "knave" is a rather unusual word, so I decided to use "Liar" instead.

The answer here:
Is Amelia married?
If "yes", then you point to the sister you asked (she is either Amelia and said the truth, or Leila and lied)
If "no", you point to the other sister.

I read the latter as well. Liked it quite a bit. Is "The Lady or The Tiger" a good read?

Can't say. It was a long time ago that I read it, and I forgot all about it
All I remember is that most of the puzzles had you either choosing the right door or dying

Well, that would work, but not exactly what I have in mind
Another try?

Well, what's the difference? It has to be a 3 word question to which you already know that right answer. You can come up with any number of them.

There is a difference.
The ones that are meant are the ones that in some way directly involve the daughters.

I give up!
Actually, could it be "Have a sister?"?
That somehow involves the daugters.
Or in less words, bump.

Actually the right answer is:
"Is Leila a liar?"
Amelia would answer this question with a "yes", Leila with a "no" definitely.
Looks like it's time for another Island of Liars and Knights riddle. I still have a couple.

But Kazir failed this test as well.
"Are you sure you want to marry this man. He certainly doesn't look like a very bright guy" says the King to his daughter. "The last test was laughably simple, you know that, and he still failed it!"
"He was just nervous" says his daughter "Give him another chance, please!"
"Well" says the Wizard "in his next task, the King told Kazir that only the unmarried daughter will come out. Kazir would have to ask her one 3-words question that can be answered with either a YES or a NO. If she replied with a YES, he could marry her, if she replied with a NO, he couldn't"
Question:
What question should Kazir have asked this time

Hm, no because that would be four words in German as well. It would work, though, of course. I didn't even think of the translation issue before...
There is another one which is three words in English as well. Re-read Kazir's Wife riddle #2 for that one

RIDDLE #6
"It's over with my patience!" says the annoyed King once the suitor failed once more. "No more chances!"
"Only one more! This will be the very last, I promise" begs the daughter.
"Okay, but this one will really be the last one, understood?"
Once the daughet promises that this will really be the last one, the King agrees.
The King calls in the suitor once more.
"Oh well. You have failed four times so far. Apparently, these 3-words questions are just not your cup of tea and this is why I will easen that condition" says the King to Kazir
"Great!" thinks Kazir
"Now one of my daughters will come in. It ca be either the married or the unmarried one and you can ask her ONE question which may contain as many words as you wish, but it has to be answered with either a YES or a NO. With her answer you must decided what is her name AND whether she is married or not. Okay?"
Question:
Is there a question with which Kazir can find out this information and if so what is it?

Sorry, lve only been skimming these questions, but the guy (Kazir or whatever...the one answering the questions)...he keeps failing, right? Wouldnt he not know to ask if she was Amelia because he doesnt know Amelia is unmarried? l guess l coulda missed something? Maybe it doesnt matter if he got them right, as you are not asking him...well, that's obvious, l guess. But, yknow.

That doesn't matter. He knows that Amelia is a Knight and therefore always says the truth so if he asked Amelia if she was Amelia she would say yes and he could marry her. If he asked Leila that, she would lie and say "yes" as well and he could marry her (even though she is already married). The point is the "yes".
