Exactly. It isn't the place, it's the people. A lot of the people who made BOM great post here, so it feels almost the same (With the obvious exception of He Who Must Not Be Named  ) Actually, I thought I would miss it, but I don't.

I registered on January 2nd 2003...that's when it all went down! No, you were one of the positives about mojo...an icon. Sean is the complete antithesis to what you are Doc.
Thanks, but wouldn't that be all posters of BOM as well?

Yeah, I do.
We've recruited the big posters, but, the small posters whose names you can't EVER remember, yet, pop in every so often to make a good post REALLY hurt this place.
We have a group of big, dedicated, frequent posters. The "old" BOM had both.
I miss the atmosphere when Sean wasn't around. That is, when he was off "programming" and left it to the mods to do his dirty work. They tended to be more flexible and allowed "Boob Appreciation" threads to remain untouched.
This isn't a "deep" post, but, yeah, I miss it. I like the atmosphere here better, but we're lacking in a couple things that can't be replaced unless the forum/main page gets a good rep a la BOM.

I miss the old days of mojo when we would join hands and sing songs of love while puppies grew on trees and kittens purred us to sleep.
Oh sure, we had our differences then. I remember the big blowout over which Don Knotts movie was the funniest - The Ghost and Mr. Chicken or The Incredible Mr. Limpet. Those Limpet fanboys were the worst! We used to call them the "Limpet Lunatics".
And, then there was the first mass banning back in the 30's. That was all over the "ankle appreciation thread". Some wise ass posted pictures of Margaret Dumont's naked ankles and all hell broke loose.
Oh, those were the days!

I think we actually discuss issues and movies more than we did at BOM which (by design) was much more about box office.
The conversations here are a bit better.
I like the ability of having indie sections, something that wasn't supported at Mojo.
I like that I like the mods.
I like that the mods aren't all extreme white wing wackos.
I like that the mods actually participate in the conversation, many of them at MOJO didn't, and that always disturbed me.

I don't miss BOM in the slightest. The atmosphere here is much more layed back, all of the worthwhile posters are here, and nobody has to worry about a random banning spree.
And I can post under my real identity, which I haven't been able to at BOM since December.

oh, and as for my reason for continuing to remain at BOM:
There are still a lot of great people there, almost all of whom had no knowledge of any of this stuff. Two of my favourite posters, Bowen and Mariah, whom I greatly respect and have respected since stumbling across BOM, are still there.
