Saw Crank at 9:50. 250-seater, sold out (surprisingly, although the screen was smaller). The theater was actually kinda busy tonight. I'm sure it's because a lot of people stayed in last night, but still, we may see some very nice multipliers.

Crank - 9/2/06 3:15pm showing 55% full (300-seat auditorium)
TRAILERS
The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (talk)
The Black Dahlia (talk)
The Guardian (some talk)
The Grudge 2 (laughs and some talk)
Employee of the Month (lots of laughs)
Great movie, lots of excellent action and it's pretty damn funny (crazy ending too). The audience seemed to enjoy it.

Almost no one here seems to be seeing any films this weekend...

My theater report.
Well first off, Lassie sold 86 tickets (59 more than yesterday), Idiocracy did 65 people (22 more than yesterday), The Quiet did 30 people (26 less than yesterday ), and Inconvient Truth did 25 people (14 more than yesterday).
Now back to our normal report.

11:10 - 19 / 27
12:00 - 14 / 23
1:20 - 38 / 52
2:15 - 27 / 55

4:45 - 38 / 65

(This went up 8% from yesterday, but that was thanks to the upgrade. Without one, a slight decline would have been in store, so I expect the nationwide number to be flat with Friday).

Wicker Man
11:15 - 10 / 13
12:00 - 7 / 12
1:45 - 22 / 59
2:45 - 22 / 63
4:20 - 28 / 90
5:20 - 25 / 36

Among holdover (in Friday to Saturday percentage change, with some mentioning).
Invincible (+37%). The 8:00 show got 37% full (275 seater)
Beerfest (-9%). The 10:55 show got 53% full (175 seater)
Idlewild (+70%). Yesterday, it barely registered, hence the huge increase.
How to Eat Fried Worms (+78%), mostly due to the matinees, Night show stayed the same (peak show hit 46 people).
Quincenera (+40%), or 17 admits better than yesterday.
Trust the Man (+115%), or 23 admits better than yesteday.
Snakes on a Plane (+93%), the 10:30 show got half full (190 seater).
Accepted (-1%), the 9:05 show got 75% full (135 seater)
Material Girls (+62%), once again, thanks to matinees (the peak show hit 54 people)
World Trade Center (+42%), the 8:55 show sold out (175 seater)
Talladega Nights (+33%), the 7:55 and 10:35 got 40% full (160 seater)
Pulse (+21%), the 9:35 got half full (95 seater)
Barnyard (+212%), the peak shows yesterday got 25 people, but today, matinee and night shows got attendance in the 60's and 70's.
Descent (+26%), the 9:10 show got 72% full (95 seater)
Step Up (+56%), the 8:25 show sold out (135 seater)
Lady in the Water (+154%), or 37 people better than yesterday .
John Tucker Must Die (+94%), or 32 people better than yesterday.
Miami Vice (+59%), the 8:50 show got 54% full (110 seater)
Pirates (+56%), the 9:10 show got 60% full (110 seater)
And finally.
Little Miss Sunshine (160 seater)
11:30 - 8 / 18
2:10 - 27 / 59
4:45 - 28 / 51
7:35 - 76 / 118
10:20 - 97 / 110
(I bet this will make people smile again, as it went up 51% from yesterday. Amazing that the 7:35 was close to full).
All in all, this was the slowest Saturday since last October, it went up only 28% from yesterday. The holdovers did great, but the openers brought it down. Good Night.
