I rented this movie over the weekend, and I'm so glad to read the positive reaction to this movie on this thread... so's I know I'm not crazy and all for really liking it.

I think this was one hell of a charming little movie. The adult cast, especially Kurt Russell, Kelly Preston, Lynda Carter and Bruce Campbell set the tone with their just-this-close-to-being-over-the-top performances. (And I'll even go so far as to say that Kurt Russell, in particular earned his salary.) I also agree with the poster who said to watch out for some of these younger cast members, because I too believe there are some future movie stars in the making here. Danielle Panabaker was very engaging as Layla, and Steven Strait (Warren Peace) stole every scene he was in.

True, this movie is fluff. But it was fabulous fluff, and I honestly think that if Disney does a sequel, it will double the revenue of the original, just based on the word of mouth I've been hearing around. If/When there is a sequel, I'll definetly see it in a theater.

PS - Kudos to whoever came up with some of these great, great comic book characters names. Gwen Grayson? Warren Peace? The Stronghold Family? Heh.

Well, Steven Strait is already starring in Roland Emmerich's next film, I think.

Sky High is really one of the few films that I actually would love to see a sequel to. I don't think it's going to happen, though. It was a medium-sized success, but not a huge hit.

It's an immensely fun, entertaining film. Sharp wit, with some decent performances from some new actors. I felt like the movie actually needed more time to tell the whole story. The people in the movie seemed to have a lot of fun with it, no one looked like they were going through the motions for a paycheck.

Spy Kids....that was a pleasant family surprise. This tried to mimic that but ultimately fails. The movie has good intentions, and it certainly isn't a bad movie, but not really remarkable in any sense. The cast was good throughout the film, even amongst all of the kids. C+

A fun movie, much better than the Fantastic 4! How can anyone not like a movie that features both Lynda Carter and Bruce Campbell? A-.

A fun movie, with an interesting premise and sharp, tongue-in-cheek humour - most of the time. Unfortunately, the ending is far too Disney to keep up the satire, and as a result, the film suffers. The climax is ultimately the only weak spot in the film, though, as the balance of humour and action makes the rest of the film loads of fun. The nods to other superhero movies are both ingenious and hilarious, and the cartoony action scenes suit the style of the film perfectly. The story, though, despite the intriguing premise, quickly degrades into typical high school drama, although with a twist. All in all, a harmless, albeit smart, flick, with a predictable plot and an unfortunately weak climax.

The adults were having a lot of fun, Russell and Cambell and the Kids in the Hall Alumni especially. The kids were fun, and it is probably one of the best kids movies I've seen in a while, because it has a good humor that adults can enjoy too.

I'll see a sequel.

For some odd reason I caught this movie on cable and was surprised that it wasn't the utter garbage it looked like it was going to be.

I think this one plays even better for adults than kids. It's actually quite hilarious. Sad at the earlier predictions that all of the young cast would be future stars. Though I did get to act with Michael Angarano which was fun. The adult cast in particular is hilarious as they bring almost cartoon like characters/ cliches to life, while the kid cast is actually one of the best for a young movie. Not many original superhero films but this is easily the best. My Grade is now a solid A. Pretty much everything you would want from a kids movie, and for that matter a superhero film.
