I do a bit. I visit the main site still very often and everytime I take a look at the forum, it's dead.

The forum itself? no. Some of the posters? yes.

Simboy and Imtim in particular.

I don't miss it, because everyone is here.

A little

But this place fills my time, and I am just starting to get to know most of you. If all works out as planned, and this place gets some more users, people that none or only a few of us know, so that we can continue to meet more people like ourselves, then I won't miss BOM since thats all it was really good for.

Precisely, their are certian posters I miss (like RAWSAW, Samara, etc.) but I don't miss the forums themselves becuase my experience at a forum is defined by the people who post there.

Yeah, I miss it. I miss the BOM posters who either don't post here at all, or don't post a lot (Squee/Nny, Zen007, Timothy), and for the life of me I can't get into posting here as much as I did there...

I miss a lot of things though. Breast feeding, for example. I guess part of growing up is learning to accept it when things change rather than obsessing so much you wind up sneaking around the city streets grabbing random pregnant women and forcing out their ripe nipples to suckle on.

Fight the urge, Snrub... Fight it! :x

I miss the BOM that was. The BOM that was from mid 2002 til the end of 2002. Shortly after that, Sean Saulsbury took a more active part in dictating, and little by little, he tried to rob the place of any personality, so it matched his own. It was still good at times, and it makes me laugh at how those forums were thriving at this time last year. It was never truely the same after the late December bannings. The BKB banning (which I tried to warn you all to stop trying to get him banned, but you wouldn't listen) robbed the forum of it's prized troll. MovieDude's banning proved that the administrator there had let reality get away from him. My banning was more power tripping on the little guy's part. He decided that it was once again time to play God this past October, and even taunted members to sign up to be banned.

How in the hell could I miss a place that was being run by such an idiot?

Those forums meant something to me, because I was one of the guys doing the groundwork and helping to make them fun for new members who might want to join. It had a sentimental attachment, but it doesn't anymore.

The real important things from BOM, are here , and that's the interesting people from all over the world that I met through there. It's like George Lucas said about special FX. He said that a special effect without a story, is a pretty boring thing. A messageboard is basically just a special effect, but the people at them are the story, and that's what's important!

why the hell would i miss it ??

i didn't visit BOM forums bec they were 'BOM forums', but bec of the people who posted there.

all of them (at least the ones i cared about) now post here; so as far as i'm concerned, nothing's changed, except that the forum color has turned to blue... :)

Somewhat.

Having so many people from BOM posting here does make it a little bit less painful at night though.

Oh, and also, there area number of things that make this a more worthwhile place to be at:

0. Rusty posts here!

1. The users who weren't allowed to post at BOM anymore are here, some of whom I really wanted to see around, like RoidRage, whom I'm very pleased to see here.

2. We get to choose our own avatars!!!

3. We can post and view images

4. The administration actually communicates with the forum members! How cool is that? Very!

5. These 2 emoticons:   Indispensible!!!

6. etc.

Yah. And we have a Foreign/Indie section that I can spend all day lurking in. Yes...that was a bit of a plug, but well, its one of the other great additions, like fun emoticons, and picking your own avatars, and seeing your old friends.

*prances of to Foreign/Indie to start yet another thread on LDV*
