Kubrick fans need to come visit me.
The theater I work at will be showing 2001: ASO every weekend in October in our IMAX screen... then A Clockwork Orange throughout November. In other words, come visit me. You Kubrickphiles know who you are. Buy a plane ticket. Meet me. See Clockwork in a five story tall theater with 42,000 watt speakers... or something technical and impressive like that.
I think this is a first? Kubrick in IMAX?

What if I love:
A Clockwork Orange
Full Metal Jacket
Dr. Strangelove
Barry Lyndon
The Shining
Spartacus
but I hate:
2001
Eyes Wide Shut
Lolita
WHAT DOES THAT MAKE ME?1

this is downright spooky.
Last night I was just telling someone at the Dr. Strangelove screening that I now needed to find a city to watch 2001 and A Clockwork Orange on the big screen, since I was able to catch The Shining and Dr. Strangelove in back to back cities.
So where will I be in Oct/Nov?
Turns out, in Florida for work. Oct: Orlando, Jacksonville. Nov: Pensacola, Tallahasse.
I'll see you in Tampa.

Yeah... I was talking with the general manager and this one guy that works there about film festivals we have coming up (this is a big year for us, as we are trying to cement ourselves in the indie film scene here - there are two theaters already doing this, so it'll be interesting... ) and they brought up the fact that among other new things, we'll be showing these two for sure. I'm absolutely giddy about things. Not sure how they will perform at the box office, but I can't imagine seeing ASO on that huge screen. Woo!
If you do make it, I'll try and be a good host. My managers would get a kick out of you... very cool movie freaks, they are. We are a very unique bunch working a very different theater, heh. A Kubrick loving theater (though the staff is on the fence about ACO)...
Well... thought I would share as I was sure at least you would find this awesome. Maybe kypade cause he lives somewhat close.

I'm definitely going. I'll drive in from Orlando to see 2001 and I guess catch a regional jet for Clockwork.
PM me a schedule when you get a hold of it so we can make definitely plans.
I'll even treat you to Ruth's Chris or Burns.

Hehe, you know the way to my heart! Burns!
So far, ASO is tentatively scheduled for 10pm in IMAX on weekends, so I'm pretty sure you can bank on a Friday or Saturday night showing. I know about as much as everyone else, which is pretty much nothing. The exact timing (opening and close dates for each film and showing times) depends on the running lengths of whatever else IMAX ships for us to show...
So, ya... I'll let you know as soon as I find out exactly when you can count on it playing. Hopefully this time I don't attack my fellow movie-night goer. I think it should be fun.

Poor Jeff. He is still recovering
It should be fun means it should be fun. Especially ordering a fillet on your card. No double meanings there. I get my kicks above the waist, sunshine.

I have vague memories of what happened between you and Jeff. I'm mostly normal, ask Arsi.

Yeah, because he is such a reliable source. Jeff and I are actually quite friendly these days. I call him to bitch about things and we sometimes have nice conversations. He is a good guy. We were just being little cunts (I've been infected with the getluv, pardon the crude references to the vagina).
Needless to say, I could never, ever be cruel to you. You're the only person in the world who might love The Crying Game more I do. Maybe.

I'm actually not seasoned enough to know of any... but I'm sure I can pick up a few drag queens at work - they tend to gravitate towards our Friday night showing of Rocky Horror. Not just the Frank-n-furter types... just last night, we had a 6'2" manly man, complete with chest hair, parading about in four inch heels and a corset. Need I go on? - There is definitely inspiration in this town, baby.
You bring the makeup and I'm there.

There are two Rocky Horror shows in the Atlanta area that I know of.
Thus far I've avoided both like the plague.

I admit to slipping into one of their performances just to see what they do... and, well, I couldn't take it. I was very offended not so much at the fact that they kept screaming "Janet is a cunt" but moreso because I couldn't hear what was being said! I heard that the soundtrack on the film actually broke and the people who put it on can't afford a better copy of the film... so now we present a silent version of Rocky Horror.

Missed it, thought it was in town for a short while.
Not sure if anyone actually likes giant queens... I actually find it amusing to see them buying popcorn and scaring the children.

Oh my goodness. All of this unwholesome conversation (re: plans to abduct me) makes me want to rescind my offer! Jeff, why don't you bugger off and rent The Crying Game, or watch my little Dil video. This is my private time with loyal.
