Pretty good kid's movie about bullying, though nothing special like Holes. Nope, it's just a straight by-the-numbers, mildly inspirational film with adequate actors and a reasonable story. The closest this'll ever come to being special is if it plays on TV as an after-school special.

I was also disturbed by the portrayal of cruelty to animals with the worms in a kid's movie. Yes, I know that no worms were harmed in the filming of the movie, but even something you intend to eat needs to be treated with respect if we're ever going to live in harmony with our fellow creatures on Spaceship Earth. Modelling kids torturing worms really didn't sit well with me. Yeah, they're just worms, but worms play an important role in our environment. Imagine how this movie would have gone over with kids and parents if it had been titled How to Eat Fried Kittens...
