What a lame poster, it makes it look like some modern-day potboiler.

The poster is very generic and could be for any type of film. It doesn't give a good idea of what the film is actually about, and there's no show of the Victorian setting anywhere.
As for the film: I can't wait!!!

Number 4000 in the long line of posters that have since been modeled after the one for Abandon.
And that was probably a knock-off of something else.
So... surprisingly crappy!

Disappointing. They held out for so long on releasing this, that I was hoping and praying that it'd be awesome, and it's decidely mediocre. Ah well. It's still better than The Departed, which is actually starting to grow on me, so maybe this will too.

Because ==> ashwani is a crazy Marvel fanboy/girl/it and since Bale and Nolan made Batman Begins...U suppose that's why?

Well that would be an incredibly crazy and stupefyingly moronic reason, if true. I can't see any other reasons, myself, as it is a rather neutral picture.

Yeah a bad poster. They should make it clear in the poster that it is about magic, that is one of the main selling points.

Very true. I didn't even get that its set in the early 1900s from the poster either.

Well, given ashwani's posting history that's a fairly reasonable explanation.

Wow, that looks like a poster for a completely different film. Interesting marketing strategy! If only other films had followed suit with their poster campaigns. Perhaps some flops could've been avoided.
For example:
