Great year so far. Never thought Block Party, which was excellent, would fall out of my top ten so fast.

Hehe. Our top two films are reversed. We have similar tastes as Silent Hill appeared on mine and Running Scared narrowly missed it.

I have a real hard time giving out A's to movies. And to be honest, this year may have a better year to year gross, but i think most of the movies are lame... Last year was one of the best movie years ever in my opinion! Ok, heres my list....
1. Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest A-
2. Mission Impossible III A-
3. Thank You For Smoking A-
4. V For Vendetta A-
5. Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby A-
6. The Pink Panther B+
7. Barnyard B+
8. Ice Age: The Meltdown B+
9. Over the Hedge B+
10. Inside Man B+
For one thing though, the animated movies seem to be getting better for some reason?????? (Or is that just me thinking that?) I am sure this list will change big time this fall after i see Little Miss Sunshine, The Prestige, and more.. There has got to be one A movie this year. Right!?!?!?

I wish I worked for New Line. That'd be the cushy job, wouldn't it? Instead, I'm just excited to see it and plan on paying to do so at least three times (Including when I actually see another movie but buy a ticket to this). Films should be rewarded for trying something a little different. such as coming up with a title that is a punchline and a pitch all in one. That's not even considering the fact that they went back to insure this was rated R when so many films (such as this weekend's Pulse) are edited down to make certain they don't get rated R.

Yay.
It's the oddest thing, I cannot remember the last time a movie got such a universally excellent response from everyone who saw it.

I kid you not, I watched it in Denver yesterday at the Mayan theatre and people were clapping along during the dance finale. I'd never witnessed that before.
