It was alittle distracting. Good thing then he doesn't have huge breasts. That would have completely thrown you off.
Man-breastsssssss - No thank you!
Anyway, I just didn't Penn did anything extra than just a solid role - I personally liked him in Mystic River better.

But back on the subject - What was up with his hair? Truly disturbing!

Goldie,
Penn did a very good job in this one. You can't compare this one to his performance in Mystic River. That was fantastic.

I agree as I said solid or very good.
I just have been gushing more over Kidman as I found her to be very good and also charming in her role.

I was the whole time entertained but it didn't blew me away. Average thriller. And yeah the bus sequence was awesome!

I think the bus sequence was Pollack at his finest. Seriously I was stressed, whispering at the screen. "get off get off get off, wtf are you doing, who cares at this point if he sees you GET OFF THE F***** BUS!"

Very good thriller with strong performances from Penn and Kidman. The bus sequence was truly terrifying, esp. after the London terrorist attacks. I just thought the ending with Kidman confronting the African country's leader was a little too Hollywood, but it was still a very good movie. My grade: B+.

I really, really didn't like The Interpreter when I saw it back in April, and I think it's hilarious that i can't even remember why. Bleh.

It was a decently made movie but had lots of flaws and a boring climax. Penn was not believable as a romantic lead and it was also not believable that he'd be falling in love 2 weeks after his wife died when he appeared to care a lot about his wife. There's no real point to this film, you leave feeling nothing is resolved. Also, the opening couple of minutes starts out the film in a bad way with two guys murdered by kids. It makes what Nicole's character fears happening to her seem like no big deal in comparison with what happened to those two men.

Yep. I still think that the bus scene was one of the finest scenes in any movie this year.

Solid drama/thriller. The story was interesting and complex enough, and the two leads were likeable and well-acted, but the pace was too uneven, mainly due to the unneeded romantic sub-plot. Still, its pros made up for its cons.

B+. Fantastic stuff from Sidney Pollack, and brilliant performances all around. A good addition to the genre, as everything else in the genre lately is just plain awful.

 Re: The Interpreter
It's on Bravo right now here. Love this movie, it builds up really nicely.
