The thing is that it's hardly been higher then even 200 on any of the weekdays. When I tracked daily numbers a couple years ago I never saw a single movie not have a drop on the ratio for Friday unless it was added to the front page. Even then it didn't tend to increase much. The front page doesn't seem to have much of an effect any more as shown last week. I guess we will have to see how well it holds over the next few hours.
I would have expected a ratio 150 based on the past few days. I guess it could be 200, but anything above that seems high IMO. I don't know, it points to a higher Friday gross then I was expecting, and I don't think I'm being biased here because of all the data for ratios dropping on Friday.

Maybe the front page did have an effect as Dupree is really pulling closer. The front page always did have more of an effect on holdovers since it gets people to review who already saw it. Either way it might be hard to predict POTC here.

Um, well, a ratio of 150, would lead us to a $29 million Friday, a 130% increase. Not even you see that happening, I think. I think a 70% increase is the VERY best case scenario and that'd give it a ratio around 205.

If you look at White Chicks & Big Momma's House Two, Little Man is doing just OK so far.

That's true, which is why I think it will certainly not be 150. However, I doubt that it can be 230 unless the front page had a huge impact.

The Wayans must have magic powers to keep getting people to see their crappy movies. I mean, who actually liked White Chicks?
Y, M, and D was sold out when I saw tonight at an 8:05 showing so it should do decently at least.

The pace is really slowing down without frontpage. Appears it had a good impact today. I think being on there for the first 21 hours provides more awarenss and possibility of helping the review numbers than being on for the final four.

I just got home and went through the posts for tonights hourly updates. Earlier in the day,
LM was consistantly nearly doubling the reviews of YMD. In the evening though, it seems
YMD started doing a bit better, closing the gap. I'd guess 6.5-7M for YMD and around 7.5M for
LM. I think 2nd place is going to be really close this weekend as LM will edge out YMD for Friday,
but YMD should have a slightly better multiplier for the weekend.

Although I expect LM to be more frontloaded overall, I expect it to have the better multiplier this weekend. "Urban" films tend to have low weekday and Friday numbers, so LM will likely increase somewhat Saturday. A movie like Dupree, which will probably do well in the suburbs, should drop Sat simply because it's audience tends to show up Friday.

You're right about the Saturday increase. At the same time though, I've observed that
movies like Dupree tend to have very small Sunday drops this time of year, while "urban" films fall
harder on Sunday. Overall, I think the weekend multipliers will be pretty close, as will
the Friday grosses.

That is true about the Sunday drops, so I suppose we will have to see.

$19-20 million for Pirates and $7-8 million for both Dupree and Little Man, with the latter being ahead.
