So after Bourne Supremacy shows the action-thriller can be huge, the genre just dies after 2 years? Its gone down yes, but its not a dead genre. CR and Bourne 3 BO performances will show why it isn't dead, though one could argue that those films have fanbases that allow them to do well.

Its pretty much dead compared to the genre that brought us countless Steven Segal movies, Die Hard, Lethal Weapon, Con Air, the Rock, Speed, a Jerry Bruckheimer action film, MI and Fugitive are dead

I think that Da Vinci Code copies and spy thrillers can still do well. Less escapist stuff like 16 Block and Firewall have been dead for some time. Bruckheimer could still make a hit, but it seems he's moving away from the genre.

If MV does bomb, I guess the whole action thriller genre is pretty much done with and it may spell trouble for Casino Royale. Since after Collateral's release, XXX2,Stealth,16 Blocks, Hostage, Firewall, and MI3 all disappointed in the US

You know, when you sit back and think about it,MI:3 Reallydidn't do that bad for a movie that may have been overshadowed by Cruise's bizaare behavior. It really was well done and 235 Million or whatever it made is pretty good..

I think he means the total gross, domestic and oversees, and if that's what BKB meant, then it actually stands at about 353 million.

BKB doesn't believe that films make money outside of the United States, so I'm pretty sure he meant just domestically.

If thats what he meant as in 135 million to him it SHOULD be a bomb because all along he has argued that Batman Begins bombed because it didnt really make back is budget+marketting in US theaters. Just remember BKB doesnt believe in oversea grosses or dvd so MI3 had a negative profit of close to 70 million if you add its budget of 150 to its 50 million marketting

In that case, though, X3 didn't make profit either :D

I really think that something is very screwy on he BOM page because it lists X-3 as 200 million when other sources like Premiere said its budget was more like 150 million while SR budget is 260 million when other sources said 180 million.

Well, I am absolutely sure that Superman's budget is above $200 million, while X3's should be above $150 million (considering that's almost as much as the second movie cost)

Zing, I do believe that movie's make $$$ outside the U.S, but for the measure of a movie's success, it really is more determined DOMESTICALLY and all this Worldwide stiuff comes last.. It's the way it is..

I sure hope. I fear it will underperform because of how stupid American audiences are. I love Miami, and I think this movie looks absolutely killer.

Well I wasn't sure if they were going to show this in Primetime or something, but that's great. Should be fun.

A hollywood reporter who talks via stalite to a chicago news station was disscusing the rumors of the budget going up because the film was so bad, said the movie wasn' that bad but it wasn't good.

I don't really understand how a movie bad correlates with a high budget.

So how much of that budget went to Jamie Foxx's entourage of 100 people or Colin Farrell's high class hookers?
