I guess my main point is that in the times we live in, its very hard to loose money these days. Thanks mostly to DVD, Nowadays, films are making less money than they usually would, now that DVD plays a much more important role. People would rather wait for it to come on DVD than see it in Theaters.
In comparison, the biggest money makers of the year will be Xmen and Pirates. They will own most likely merchandising and have strong dvd sales, however, Cars might come on top thanks to Pixar films being rediculously huge on DVD. Plus all three will turn a profit in theaters
So far the film that has to work the most is Posiedon and MI3.

I feel bad for the guy. Obviously Superman was a much harder sell to audiences than Pirates was. Obviously reporters are allowed to ask whatever they wish, but it was pretty rube and childish to ask him a question like that. The guy's obviously disappointed his movie got trounced by Pirates, and that he was unable to make a film as profitable. Routh handled it the best I believe simply because he is the only newcomer out of the group, and just gave an honest answer rather than dwell on the reaction the interviewer was really aiming for.

I agree, from being a local news reporter myself, and my brother being an anchor for NY for a while, It stinks they way most of the time they treat stories, their brutal. They'll be like, Ow Someone died Great. Pain sadly sells the most.

It's not pretty, but it's called "getting a reaction". Singer's performance tells me more about what's really going on in his head (and behind closed doors) than any official statement from the studio.
Granted, it's just a stupid movie. If only that reporter were in the White House Press Corp.
