So we are looking for something in the mid 40's for opening day. That would be great and could lead it to the $110-$125m area for the weekend.
The crowd reports seem stronger however.

your mean it wont fall under 45. i agree. but if gets say 44, itll drop below 40 without midnights to say 38-39, and then down to around 30. thats 113.

What was the original's ratio?
What do you guys think its ratio will be? Is 150 too high? It isn't as male driven as SW or X3 but i'd argue like those it has fanboys, not as many but still, and it is a sequel after all, so...

I see along the lines of Spider-man 2. 120 seems reasonable.

With 7000 reviews that would be about $58m for the day. Too much!
EDIT:
Off to my beauty sleep...

I see a 6,500 finish for a $54 million OD. Sounds about right.

Hmm, I guess Yahoo may not be very useful today after all. Hopefully the situation will get cleared up in the next couple of hours. It's certainly clogged at the moment.

I agree. If it doesnt make $45m then it wont pass Spidey. But most likely it will make more than $45m. I guess it all depends on how much it drops on Saturday.

The crowd reports appear to be much uch stronger so I'd say so too.
I guess we'll get a good indication when ScottV, Animosity and JMorphin post there theatre stats.

Can we have some sort of ratio from the written reviews instead?

Yeah, we should start tracking them in a table as well. The pace for it has been amazingly consistent (making me believe the overall reviews have been increasing at around 700 per hour), and it updates every minute.

I know JMorphin's theater has been selling out pretty much all shows today, and I see at least the 9:15pm show is gone at Scott's.

Then they could be telling a better story than yahoo today - but we shall see.

I can't speak for North America, but here in OZ the hype hasnt been as big as DVC, but bigger than Supes and X3. Nowhere near as hyped as Sith. The original was huged and did the equivalent of $250m in the US. So big but not as big. Still, its being talked about a fair bit and should be the biggest film of the year here too.

see for north america, itll be a shame if this only get like 100, cause if it had been as marketed as much as sith was, itd be looking at 140 million easy. i saw more marketing for superman-hell id say a lot more-then i did for pirates. ive seen one tv spot the past 3 days and it was today with the slogan "get your booty to the theater"....

We could start with this movie.
