150 will not happen. 120 is very slightly possible and by slightly I mean not happening. 110 is more attainable but very unlikely. 100 is the upper level of reasonability. 90 is most likely 80 is probable. 70 is less likely but possible. 60 is the very bottom of reasonability. 50 very very unlikely. 40 is about as likely as 150. 30 is less then it will most likely make in its Opening Day.

I still wouldn't be surprised to see this pull in a 90 mill OW. I guess I, like Redspear just don't feel the hype. Now if 90 mill is a shitty OW then we live in a sad world. Having said that, I'll stick with my ow of 107.5.

Yeah right anything over 90 million is fantastic for any film. As baumer said it is a sad day when 100 million dollars is a dissappointing OW.

People are insane. I love Pirates same as the next groupie, but it will open bigger (even if the first had opened on a Friday hypothetically) and have shorter legs. That's the fate of sequels, and as fun as Capt. Jack "But you have heard of me" Sparrow is, he's not going to buck the trend.
The only thing going for it the first one didn't have was that I don't see any movie the following weekend have a near 50 million opener. That might help the curse of the sequel legs a bit.

Exactly. That's why it will open with at least 135m.

Considering what the negative reviews are saying about the film, I think it's pretty much impossible for this to reach $500M. Not that it ever was, but....you know...

Ive always maintained this will do between $270 and $315m and will continue with that.
Otherwise - the absolute ceiling I see is $400m and the absolute floor would be $250m. I'd be comfortable with $330-$350m though. lets wait and see!

the bad critic reviews are surprising, they almost seem determined to dislike the film, anyway Im not going to worry, if I even have to, untill I see some revies from KJers and moviegoing friends.
