Really, I'd challenge that. You're talking about films that hit 100 mill for the three day, because there are very few that have hit 100 mill for the week that didn't hit it during the first three days.

I don't have time to research it right now, I'm at work, but I think there are plenty of films to make 100 mill in their first week and not hit 200 mill total.

Actually, he's right. According to BOM, the only film to make $100 million in its first week and not make it to $200 million was The Day After Tomorrow.

I'm not saying I agree with him; I firmly believe that Superman won't make $200 million. Its first week was inflated by the Fourth of July holiday, and it's gonna be hit hard this weekend by Pirates. I'm just saying that, for once, excel is right. ;)

scrool down to the last 7, then go to the top. only 1 hasnt gotten 200 million, and it was behind superman at thi point, and also had a 780 million ww monster waiting the week after.

Actually, Day After Tomorrow is basically the best comparison at this point. DAT fell almost 60% it's 2nd weekend which is exactly what SR will do then leveled off with 40-45% drops each weekend from then on out.

DAT legs are in store for it. So im gonna say around 192m-195m finish, maybe a bit lower.

Cool. Thanks, didn't realize Mojo had a list. That is going to be bad for Superman. Too bad it will join TDAT in that infamous crowd of two.

Well, based on my analysis, which its doing on par, I think its got the momentum to pull it. TDAT was also long, but wasnt well recieved, and opened much higher than Superman. I think WOM and the fact that its opening was soft will give it a mini batman run. I think Pirates will hurt it, but not like Superman, Im seeing 52-55% drop.

I'm thinking at this point, it's dropping heavy will have nothing to do with Pirates at all.

Even if there was no Pirates this weekend it would've still dropped around 50%. So a 60% drop can easily happen.

Ofcourse DAT opened higher then SR, it came out on a Friday.

I'll disagree with everyone and say SR drops 70% in it's 2nd week.. I've been right about this movie up to this point.. Call it a hunch..

I hope atleast it passes 200, at least that. But with POTC2 coming out the chances arent that great, if it can atleast survive a 60 percent fall, the summer weekdays might help it out.

I'm pretty sure it didn't have an $11 million opening day like you predicted.

I did overguess it. Not by a lot, and you'll be closer than I am in the end, but you're not "right about this movie up to this point" in all aspects.

I think so too could do it by Sunday or a few days after that. I have to say IMAX helped get it there though.

And the gloating begins. It should be time to bump the "under 200 million club" and "over 250 club" and laugh at them

Technically not, since $200-210m falls in the $200-250m club, but nice try, Mr. $250m+.

w/e supermans late legs were astonishing, and have made its average weekend rop to just a 24.53% average weekend drop.

a sequels defienly happening now, well have to wait for dvd sales to see how big itll be.

and i estimate that without pirates 2 so close, superman woulda done roughly 250/240.

w/e bring on superman 2!
