The Superman Returns will make between 200-250 million Club
It had to be done. I personally thing it will be slightly smaller than Batman Begins, but opens higher.
Come on guys, can't we have just one Superman Predictions thread.

I'm suprised actually, I meant this as a joke due them leaving out the middle of the two. But Bring on the members.

It'll be out of this range before July ends. I know someone is going to point this out, so yes. I was stupid. But I think it will get in this range still. Maybe barley, but still in.
Actually, technically, you were right. Just not in the way you were thinking.

Forget it.. I've stuck it out this far and I'm not giving this movie the satisfaction of thinking it will cross 200 Million.. I said 201 Million but come on.. I don't see how anyone couldn't think that after such an abysmal weekend opening with this.. POTC 2 will level this next weekend..

As far as abysmal, its not. Its the highest opening DC movie now. Not only that, come on BKB if Batman and Superman opened on a friday, they would have both opened above 75 million. Not 110, sorr to do that to you excel, but Superman would have made 85 million tops based on its opening Wednesday.
the most logical way to look at it is through this. It should be near 105 on Tuesday, around 117 on Thursday. Pirates will give it a 50% drop I think, i think WOM is there again honestly. That will put it around 145 come next sunday. give it another 12 million for those weekends were at 157 million. Another 50% drop, though I doubt it would will put it up to 170 million. After that 20 million is very much a reality, 30-40 million isnt out of the question. The key is if the WOM will give it a Kong or Batman run. but even so, 180 million is the minimum at this point.
Im not a big superman fan, but the numbers show 200 million is still a 50/50 shot.

It's also the highest budgeted DC movie. It was supposed to get the highest weekend record of DC, because if it didn't, WB is up for a bigger embarrassment.

But Batman Begins was 200 million too, its a difference of basically pre production all those 19 years. Its well made, but its definitely not the most impressive budget film I've ever seen.
But, wow I've nailed it so far, looks like it will reach 117 by wed. If it makes the 140 by Sunday, 200 million is very capable. Its legs can be worst then BB. That needed about 2.85 from its opening 5 days. Superman needed about 2.4 to pass 200 million. 4th of july weekend, and no other film opening during that time, will really help Superman this weekend. I think it will pull around 7 million on Friday, maybe hit 10 on Saturday, and fall to 8 on Sunday for a 25 million weekend.

I think it's pretty much done, it needed better Monday & Tuesday holds. Should finish around 185m now.

I'm not ruling this out yet, but I'm guessing around $190-195 million. If it gets close enough, though (like, $198-199 million), WB might try to push it over the mark.
