Snakes on a Plane tv spot
http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/snakesonaplaneqt.html
It's being played out as serious, not even unintentionally funny film. It's not making more then 40m total. It wont be a good serious action flick, it wont be a funny, and it wont be so bad it's good, it's just gonna be shite.
The internet and fans have done a much better job at marketing this film then the studios by ten folds, no question about it.

I don't know. The voiceover guy sounds kind of funny. Does that count?

Yeah, that's a huge letdown from the teaser.
They better figure out how they're gonna market this thing fast. If New Line drops the ball here, it'll probably go down as one of the biggest studio blunders of all time.

Looks exactly like I expected it to look. I'm not sure what people were expecting in the film other than that kind of thing.
It was compared by some to rocky horror but Rocky Horror was a successful stage musical before it was ever made into a movie. This is just some idea jotted down by some agent. Unless there's some funny writers working for it whose name you recognize I wouldn't expect much.

Yeah, that's where the comedy is.
If they don't play it serious, it won't be funny.

Like I said it doesnt look unintentionally funny though, it doesnt look ridiculous to the point of being flat out funny.

I think that was handled ok. They just need to really stress the 'yes we're actually making a movie called snakes on a plane that's actually about SNAKES ON A PLANE" motive.

What did everyone see in the original teaser that I didn't?
Anyways, I think people such as Freeze_Gopher on BOM who are hyping this film so much is the only reason we think it will make money. Seriously, who would want to see this (I'm talking about normal human beings, not internet fanboys)? It's rated R, which knocks off millions from its potential audience as well.
