I'll go ahead and move it, if people don't like it, they can come here and complain.
We will try it for at least a week.

one comment only about my weekly upcoming #1 movie poll.
The only reason that I am againist this is because the poll isn't the main part of my / most threads - technically all threads could have a poll question. I always set up a poll question so that way people who don't want to read the thread can get a quick re-cap. But there is alot of discussion talk that would be lost if the threads were down-graded to only poll threads.
I am OK if you want to leave it like this - but I just think that some threads will get buried in that sub-section - for me and my one weekly thread listing all of the coming weeks movies - I guess the easy thing to do is just not attach a poll
as truthfully, I am more interested in user comments that the poll results > though the poll results are a nice easy recap.
********************
For example, my weekly threads talks about all movies opening plus some very general and informational facts.
- A quick re-cap of the #1 weeks movie so everyone knows what is opening including limited, expansions......
- Details on all opening movies for the week including actors, theater #, etc.
- Details on the top 5 BO for the past week
- Current RT numbers
- Some critic reviews brought over from RT
- User rankings and comments of the movies including what they want to see / not see
Etc. > That is why I never thought of these as poll type questions
*********************
That is my say. Last & Only Comment.

Then don't put a poll on the thread.

Make it whatever you feel like. Do you know how to change it? If not, let me know and I'll show you how.

I'm fine with a Poll section, but can someone add the "Edit" option in that forum?

Just an observation - as I expected - conversation / posts has stopped in most of the poll threads - out of all poll questions in the Movie section - only 5 total got posts responses yesterday. So until they ever get a response, they are now buried and not even called up when using the button for posts since your last visit. And the number of views has dropped to almost no new views since being put in this new sub-section.
Question > On the 2 bolded below, can a MOD delete the poll attached to these 2 general question thread so they go back into the movie section.

Hm, meh, even I am inclined to agree by now. I think moving all poll-related threads there will lead to generally less replies. I understand that some threads have the poll for the sake of the poll, but others have the poll, but also need discussion.
Needs some kind of better handling. Not to say, I have an idea or something, hehe.

What would be nice is if it could be made so that each non-mod/admin user could only create a max of two polls per week. Then having them in Cinemania might not be such an eyesore. But that seems unlikely, probably too time-consuming to program.
I'm surprised how much activity the poll section is getting lately frankly. It seems to be working better than expected.

Personally, I haven't noticed much activity here but I could be wrong.
At least, it can be easily measured for review by how many were posted before moving it to this new section and in the last 2 days.

just a quick update / review on a full day yesterday - only 4 old threads received posts yesterday and 2 were mine that were just updated with the new RT information.

might be a sore subject, but maybe its a quality issue. My latest theatre etiquette poll performed quite well in the subsection.

No sore subject as I take no offense at that > I did see that > My personal feelings on why are > you starting the thread, the one colorful word in the thread title and the topic in general have lead to replies.
So congrats on having the only one presently.
Hopefully through the weekend we will see some more activity in that section > but I really don't see alot of people taking the extra steps to go down to the sub-basement.

Boy that new section is so depressing. Seeing that there was no activity other the weekend and if it wasn't for a couple of posts by Loyal and a couple others, that place would be a ghost town with cobwebs growing.
Even just looking down that thread, look at how many posts are on each thread which happened before they were moved there > there are soooooooooo many with 20 + into 50 old discussion posts, etc.
and now that they are in this other section that it seems no one goes into, they are now lost.
Like I said originally, polls are just add ons to a thread that still need and get discussions so it is crazy that they are seperated as this move is now taking away from discussion in the Movie section.
*****************************
Maybe one answer is that 2 threads should be set up > one in the polling area for polls only and then one in the Movie section for discussion only.

Truthfully, I don't really care as I can work around it - just post discussion threads without the polls attached - then the only thing that is lost is the easy recap which I think people really liked but I guess some people don't like.
and here is an example of a poll thread in the BO forum that allows polls. Any subject could have a thread - with or without a poll.
[ Poll ] The Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Mans Chest 500m+ Club
[ Goto page: 1 ... 13, 14, 15 ] 353 BJ 6513 Today 02:55 pm

Just too bad - as I said before if you look in the poll forum, the poll threads were still getting a very good number of post responses when in the Movie section.

Poll section is dead. Threads that would have two or three pages of replies in Cinemania barely have ten posts.
