I'm just saying that Halloween is arguably the best horror film ever made. It is a shame that it has been tarnished over the years with far too many sequels.

So apparently, the movie will explore Michael's childhood and how he became the killer he is at first. There will be some same characters and links to the existing series and it will be the same mask. So much for the all-new film.

That actually sounds kind of interesting.

Great. Instead of being a complete psycho -- something that's really scary -- we'll get to see him be abused, I'm sure.

I personally think Carpenter had the best idea, make a different story for other halloweens. But if Carpenter could have only come up with a better story than the shit that was the third, it could have succeeded, he should have just directed himself, it was so poorly executed. Instead, although 2 wasnt as good, it was a good sequel, and ended the series nicely, we were stuck with a remake of sorts with 4, which was ok, 5, which I dont know what the hell they were thinking, 7 was big because Scream was big, and 8 was just what the french call a certain, I dont know what.
The only real film that ever showed balls for the franchise was 6. Granted it was portrayed horribly, and Donald Pleasance was really bed ridden in the role, sad to see. The mythos of michael Myers was very interesting, being a part of a druid curse. But it was screwed.
Like they say though. By reimaging, i wouldn't be suprised, if they spend this entire film as a build up for a 2 parter, setting him up, with the murder. Then horrible mistreatments, and possible unexplained occurances in the mental asylum, Then of course, he escapes right at the end. I would think the psychological aspects of the mental asylum could be very chilling. Carpenter even said that seeing a boy in a mental hosptial was the most chilling thing he's ever seen, too bad he was too structured on the main story to expore it.
*So in closing, I'm all for the reimaging because, lets face it Continuity failed after the 2nd film. There was a middle trilogy of sorts, a film that pretended the previous 4 didnt happen, and the 8th, well, completely did for Michael Myers what Anderson did for the Predator.

Resurrection was no worse than 5 or 6, and its Michael was better than both.

I'll vouch for that, as bad as some has been compared to the original, none of them have been laugh out or embarassing. Just pointless, or relied to heavily on gore and not on suspense. 3 not withstanding of course.

So, the first half of the movie will be about Michael becoming a psycho and the second half will be the "reimagining" of the original.
Sounds bleh.

Surprise, surprise, Sheri Moon is in it (not as Laurie Strode, though):

I wonder if a new halloween will generate interest in my script? Lol, one can hope. This is one series that shouldnt be reimagined. Just improved on.
