Well mate, since I'm off 'Into the West' today, I just wanted to take a moment and wish you the best of everything on your approaching binding ceremony and honeymoon! Enjoy New Zealand to it's fullest and I know that you'll have a faen-taees-tic (gotta say it like us..lol) time! I'll be checking up on you, so pop in (there are loads of internet cafes around)and let us know how you are getting on in my country. Don't fall off any horses either and bring them small, sweet apples!! Take care mate and have the time of your life!!

Computer engineer, Ray Tomlinson invented internet based email in late 1971. Under ARPAnet several major innovations occurred: email (or electronic mail), the ability to send simple messages to another person across the network (1971). Ray Tomlinson worked as a computer engineer for Bolt Beranek and Newman (BBN), the company hired by the United States Defense Department to build the first Internet in 1968.

Ray Tomlinson was experimenting with a popular program he wrote called SNDMSG that the ARPANET programmers and researchers were using on the network computers (Digital PDP-10s) to leave messages for each other. SNDMSG was a "local" electronic message program. You could only leave messages on the computer that you were using for other persons using that computer to read. Tomlinson used a file transfer protocol that he was working on called CYPNET to adapt the SNDMSG program so it could send electronic messages to any computer on the ARPANET network.

Ray Tomlinson chose the @ symbol to tell which user was "at" what computer. The @ goes inbetween the user's login name and the name of his/her host computer.

The first email was sent between two computers that were actually sitting besides each other. However, the ARPANET network was used as the connection between the two. The first email message was "QWERTYUIOP".

Just wondering, do you still watch Starting Over loyal? I do, but not as much as I used to. It got kind of boring, and superficial to me. I really don't like the new housemates as much as last years, but they have their moments.

The new season isn't as good. Like all reality shows, they live and die by their casting and nothing beats the antics of last season's women.

Thanks Dolce and Mata for the warm words. If I run into PJ, Im not quite sure what I would do. I'm old enough not to gush like some insane fanboy. And I have enough work experience to not seem like a complete fool. I'll treat it like a job interview and hopefully I can become his errand boy.

Yeah, it's going to be a real beast. We start in Christchurch. We'll be swimming with dolphins, bungy jumping, horseback riding, whale watching, glacier climbing, luging, riding a jeboat, riding a helicopter, and taking a relaxing gondola ride on the South Island.

Then we leave from Picton to Welly. We'll skydive from there. Then we'll gorge ourselves at a Maori village feast, white water sledge, abseil, black water raft, scuba dive, zorb, snorkel, and do a bit more dolphin swimming.

We fly back into Christchurch. The following day, head home.

I am so jealous... Sounds like you're gonna have tons of fun... biootch.

Between the skydiving and the scuba diving, I fully expect to die during this trip.

I'm an underemployed writer. Maybe I should spent less time globe trotting and buying dvds and more time yelling at my agent.
