Best movie: "Wedding Crashers" ( Surprise surprise, Vaughn has a new movie out )
Performance: Jake Gyllenhaal, "Brokeback Mountain." ( What? )
Comedic performance: Steve Carell, "The 40-Year-Old Virgin."
On-screen team: Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson, "The Wedding Crashers."
Villain: Hayden Christensen, "Star Wars: Episode III-Revenge of the Sith."
Breakthrough performance: Isla Fisher, "Wedding Crashers."
Hero: Christian Bale, "Batman Begins." ( Cool )
Sexiest performance: Jessica Alba, "Sin City."
Fight: Angelina Jolie vs. Brad Pitt, "Mr. & Mrs. Smith."
Kiss: Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger, "Brokeback Mountain."
Frightened performance: Jennifer Carpenter, "The Exorcism of Emily Rose."
mtvU filmmaker award: Joshua Caldwell, "A Beautiful Lie."
Silver Bucket of Excellence: Spike Lee, "Do the Right Thing."
MTV Generation Award: Jim Carrey. ( This has got to be the 100th time Carrey got this kind of award from MTV )
It feels as though, MTV just tries to suck everyones ass. That's the problem with letting people vote early and often. The BBM fans voted over and over for their movie.
Well if that was the case harry potter would have won at least Villain, and Star Wars would have took best fight as well. I think MTV fixes these things.

Um....You don't think SW fans can vote more often then HP fans for best villian?
Fight doesn't really surprise me as it was the thing, more then anything else, that took Smiths to 186m.

I think the only real surprise is Jake for Performance. Everything else was expected.
I'll admit I thought the best movie would go to some action pic though.

I think its fixed because of the fight. If the star wars fans were able to get Hayden best villain then how in the world did they not vote enough for best fight. I only thought Potter fans would vote more becase of the IMBD poll they had earlier this year where GOF was leading five categories, but who knows if those same people voted in this thing.

Different people I'm sure.
But best villian was a battle between fanboys. Best fight had an option for everyone else.
I really don't think it's fixed, just flawed.

I still say fixed, but I am very cynical. I wouldn't trust MTV in stuff like this. Of course the whole award show has been a joke for years, so who knows.

Jessica Alba is great to look at and all, and she was better than Lohan from last year, but she should never host another awards show again. Period.

LAME!!!!!
I'm not even watching the last 15 minutes.
Actually... the ranch-hand jobs was quite clever I gotta say.
And the Davinchi parody was good too
Other than that

Tonight's was MUCH better than last year's disaster. The spoofs were funny, the winners solid and they had a GREAT lineup of presenters. It's much better than having the overrated Napoleon Dynamite win everything

I just realized why I have no recollection of last year's awards. I was out of the country during and probably a week or two prior to the awards.
Anyone have a list of nominees/winners from last year?

I decided to just watch the best hero award and Gnarls Barkley performance on MTV Overdrive. Bale is the man, like Bale told Routh, Batman is the biggest bad ass in comics. Barkley's performance was okay at best, the Star Wars things was cool, but the performance had no energy.

I saw part of it tonight. I actually liked it. Better then the Oscars.
Sam Jackson guaranteed his own win next year for Snakes on a Plane.

Well, that (rerun) was lame.
I love how I watch it days later and come into the thread looking for discussion, don't you?
err, wait.... this is MTV. Nothing to discuss. Amanda Bynes looked like an Ooompa Loompa?
