One more. I think the ratio will be under 200 especially with the clogging. It's hard to say exactly, but anything over 41m would make sense to me. 44m-45m would be my best guess.

I presume they include midnight figures. So what would Saturday be like?

MIN - $37, MAX $44m??

Either way - some serious records could be broken!!

Yes, I think it's possible. The record would already have been broken 4 times though if everything opened on a Friday.

It depends on midnights I think. If they are like over 10m then think that 12% drop could happen. If the previews are like 6-7m then I think it might drop somewhere around 5-6%. With 45m openning day it would mean like 40m saturday and 32-33m Sunday which would give 117 m 3-day

I think that 100 m 3-day is a 100% lock now.

X-Men: The Last Stand 7,784, +211, B+

Well, perhaps I should be conservative and say 41m, but I'll stay with 44.5m.

Absolutely huge projections for X3 on opening day...I can't believe it can improve on X2 by this much. Insane, i'm so hoping for a $40m opening day.

Only 3 other movies have done so:

ROTS - $50,013,859
SM2 - $40,442,604
HP4 - $40,118,363

The crowd I saw it with yesterday was huge....it's probably the first movie where i've seen the audience laugh and be so in-tune with what's going on. All the jokes in the movie received huge applause and people were really having a good time..

I'm going to predict:

Fri - $40m
Sat - $34m
Sun - $30m
Mon - $21m

= $104m // $125m

Wohooo.... :hahaha:

The frontpage effect should push the ratio to about 200. I'm thinking a $38.5M Friday and a whopping 4-day total of $125M.

Nebs is more on the mark. Don't see this doing more than $30m on friday.

Although any number it ends up with is going to be huge, but if it does more than 35, thatis insane. This will surely break the 250 mark that BKB asked about.

He's just mad DVC wasn't able to do it.

But I do think DP is being very optimistic, the way he always is when a film has uber-blockbuster potential. Remember him saying $100M opening for DVC Saturday morning?

He usually is optimistic. I do think it will get the $125M 4-day that he predicted, though, so he's far from being off his rocker.

Excellent projection.

You dared, you won.

And seriously, those who projected below $35 million had it coming.

Never let personal bias influence your predictions.
